not exactly sanrio related, but i found a pic of kuromi and baku's japanese voice actors that feels weirdly in-character, and baku's va himself even compared it the characters lol
from what i can tell this was at a comedy show...? baku's va (maeda noboru) is a comedian which also feels fitting esp since there were some jokes in onegai my melody abt kuromi and baku feeling like a comedy duo lmao. kuromi's va (takeuchi junko) was only invited as a guest here tho

he seems to like baku quite a bit, i found some of his social media and he posts photos of baku stuff sometimes. i like when voice actors are also fans of the characters they voice.
he seemed really happy when he got to voice baku again in the kuromi's pretty journey series, he said in response to someone else that he hadnt voiced baku in almost 15 years by then!? which i thought was an overstatement at first, but doing the math, yeah thats pretty close to how long it was.... unless u count the onegai my melody special thing that iirc ran before a jewelpet anime which is from 2012, but i dont remember how much speaking he even did in that.

i remember thinking his voice sounded a bit off when i watched pretty journey, but if itd really been so long since the last time then that would explain it i guess

Once again we find the character card out on the open. I’d really prefer it if it wasn’t to keep to w my suspense. This is an issue across brands.

I managed to pull it out without peeking. The bottom of the base appears to have printed text – another detail to keep your eyes from to prevent spoilage.

if the heart eye is shaped like this, dont buy it, you're getting ripped off

a lot of figurine bootlegs are made by like... making a mold out of the existing figure

which always ends up having errors

and those errors are rarely fixed

which at least makes em easier to spot

also usually a lot of paint/print job mistakes, and cheaper materials, ect...

i wish sanrio bootlegs werent everywhere. i keep getting them from relatives who cant tell a difference

one of them really annoyed me a while ago. i sent my mom a link to an official kuromi plush i wanted, and it went out of stock before she got it, and instead of asking me for a different plush she bought me a 5$ bootleg on amazon that both looks and feels awful

and also had a cinnamoroll tag on it which was kinda funny ill admit

also a tip, im pretty sure most sanrio merch on us amazon at this point is bootlegs. amazon japan has official stuff, but the only official things on the us side im pretty sure is some stuff from other brands that have a license to use the characters, rather than from sanrio themselves. ik theres also some japan imported stuff too from a few shops but the prices on those are usually raised quite a bit and id say arent worth it in a lot of situations.

plus, obviously bootleggers will steal photos of official merch and send you something else, so its good to look in reviews if you arent sure on something
