Each of them seems like a terrible time to live. However, out of all of the crisis ages, which one seems the least bad to you?

Age of Intolerence, if you're on the good side, you're good. Even in game it seems the least punishing. Those who had religion (and who basically triggered it to begin with) really just got boost to them than anything else.

Can't say much for the others considering we know little of them (namely Heresy, Old Ones, Dystopia)

Intolerance also makes religious wars more likely, right? Not sure I'd want to live through the 30 Years War. Heresy was my first thought, but like all pre-industrial ages it has the problem that you're most likely living (or dying in childhood!) as a subsistence farmer with no modern medicine or food security, which doesn't sound particularly great.

Honestly, I might just take Visitors - quality of life if you manage to avoid being vaporised is presumably similar to the present day, and the potential upside if humanity wins is pretty high.

Age of Visitors, probably (I like space stuff). Also, who wouldn't want to be an X-COM? So long as you aren't the first one out of the ship...

Heresy might not be much of an issue for the average person, depending on what the cultists do exactly

#

But we don't know much about that age

#

Intolerance is a decent pick

#

Since unlike some other ages

#

Like age of blood and age of visitors

#

It only seems to encourage crusades

#

And doesn't force them

#

So fighting isn't mandatory

Visitors because the technology is best. I know the crisis makes things worse but when asked when in the past you want to live the answer is as close to the present. Old ones ia exceptionally bad though so it is the worst.

Speaking of which, has anybody been able to trigger the age of heresy?

#

Tooltips seem to imply that you need to be at a culture negative to gain Charge but thats pretty hard to do ironically

I triggered it and went for the age of the old ones after - you need negative culture for 20 turns, it is possible if you have not started a religion and incorporate 8 cities

This is diffinetely the most annoying age to be in as it spawns cultists every turn and it can not be prevented by any means, only slowed down to 2-3 cultists empire wise every turn if you have 200 percent needs fulfillment everywhere - these cultists are not only able, but target pillaging of your improvements making it a Tom and Jerry sitcom every turn. If you have 30 of them spawned (8 cities with 2 expands spawn around 28 day one, so you just skip one turn) you are locked to age of old ones.

In this age ||if you entered it first every existing cultist and all spawned later become under your control, giving you an army to annihilate all other empires and declares war on everybody. it is impossible to move out of this age, so it is you or them. I am not sure how interface looks for empires dragged into it and is there a possibility for others to win, but for entrant of this age there is no techs in it or possibility to move further||

Whish granted: We are living in age of visitors already. Just wait a few years and the public will find out.
