Maybe a new licence and scanner to check if a parcel is flagged as 'Express'?

Normally, if you get an air package, you hold it for a day that accepts air packages. What if we had a licence to accept packages that supercede the usual transport type restriction?

So instead of holding it, you get penalised for not sending it same day, even if it isn't normally accepted on that day (assuming all other checks are good.)?

This is a great idea
but would it bypass the restriction (air-labelled express parcel can be sent on non-air days) or would it allow other cargo types in the case that it's a non-air day when received?
maybe it could be determined by package labeling?

For me its a Bad idea because endgame gameplay is about automation

i mean you can always make an express-only lane. at least that was my initial thought.

maybe just dye the conveyor belt a different color so it doesnt get confusing.
green for good
red for denied
blue/default for checking
and yellow or whatever for express

Adding to this instead of creating a new post, since I was thinking about express shipping too - deliveries stop at 5pm but time doesn't, so you have express delivery packaged marked with a day they need to be sent by, if you can't process them in time, they are still submitted but you receive a penalty (less money, a fine would encourage just not submitting them).
Either a new submission area for them, or allow submissions on off days.
They'd have an "Express" sticker with an automation machine to process them to the correct line, continuing end-game automation requirements.
