Hi, I'm trying to help my partner sort out her connection errors to a friend's group server and was hoping someone here might be able to help?

She keeps getting the Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset Error, for which we've tried several solutions to no avail

She's on CurseForge, using the newest version BCG+ stock standard

for Java she's using 21
RAM wise she's allocated ~8Gb

We're trying to join an Exaroton server, also using the latest version of BCG+

We have:

  • Uninstalled hamachi
  • Restarted her PC several times
    -reduced render distance
  • Changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 /8.8.4.4
  • flushed dns through cmd
  • done netsh interface tcp global rss and globasl autotuning levels as suggested

I don't know if this is the right server for this, but I hope someone might be able to lend a hand.

Thank you for your time!

Update: DNS chage yielded a new error:

Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: io.netty.handler.codec.EncoderException: java.io.IOException: Root tag must be a named compound tag

and continues to not allow her to join
