Building wands are more versatile, robust, and better for builders than gadgets. They have a very robust replace block component that allows for both gradients and randomly placed blocks. They enable terraforming with significantly more precision. And they do not rely on having to get deeply into a tech mod that a builder may not be interested in pursuing.

I'm seconding this, only because the BCG+ modpack got me addicted to building wands first...

Building Gadgets are not a good subsititute. The gadget does not allow for gradients or for texturing -- all gradients and texturing have to be done manually. It is not nearly as good for terraforming.
There may be performance issues I am unaware of, but there should not be permission issues because it is in many major packs that are on public servers.

The more terraforming and building I do, the more I miss wands. Bumping for visibility. I know at least several other builders on the public server have discussed really missing these.

Agreed building wands are so much better and I’ve never experienced performance issues stemming from building wands

you could add that yourselfs. as recon said it's already been ruled out as far as we know. but if you really want them, it's as simple as adding them to the pack? I know I'm going to once 0.5.0 comes out.

I mean like. . . .If he doesn't want to add it, he doesn't have too. It's his modpack. If you don't agree, it's as simple as clicking the install button of the mod you want. It's minecraft add whatever you want to it. That is what makes it fun. 
That goes with like half of the suggestions, most are repeats of themselves. Where Joe already said he probably wasn't gonna add it. like (Cobblemon Rider) Just add it yourself, it takes like two five seconds steps and your good.
