My friend have been trying to open a server with bcc and it keeps crashing. Is Shockbyte an okay server host for this modpack?

ornate mist
#

Shockbyte is not an ok host for any modpack. Sorry, not a productive comment but I had bad experiences with their performance in vanilla.

Post the server latest.log and I can take a look.

i feel like every host provider is pretty bad in their own big "corporate" ways bisect hosting has a bad place in my heart because i have had bad experiences with it partnering with every single living being in the universe doesnt automatically make the host good imo

#

shockbyte is the same for me too

#

hate all of them

You need access to the file manager. Then go to the logs folder

velvet orbit
#

Is this what you're looking for?

ornate mist
#

Server is set up as a forge server

#

Needs to be fabric

#

Actually rename the file fabric-server-launcher.jar to custom.jar

velvet orbit
#

Or the shockbyte website

ornate mist
#

Yeah that will work

velvet orbit
#

Alright, one second

ornate mist
#

Forge should not be in there. Delete it then start it up.

velvet orbit
ornate mist
#

Yup

velvet orbit
#

Alright let me try

velvet orbit
#

let me send the new logs again

ornate mist
#

Yeah that means your server is probably running as vanilla.

#

Download the server files off of cf then copy the fabric-server-launcher.jar to your server and name it custom.jar. Select the other .jar files in your root directory.

#

Actually

#

Delete everything in your root do and copy over all the files from the server pack.

#

You are missing practically all the mods.

velvet orbit
#

Help okay one second

#

is the one on the right the root folder

ornate mist
#

Yeah

#

Im assuming you are trying to play bcg+ with cobblemon right?

velvet orbit
#

But we might switch

#

Yeah we're switching to with cobblemon

ornate mist
#

well, there seems to be no 2.1.1 server files for NC

#

ok

#

just linking in case you need the server files

velvet orbit
#

Thanks so much, that's actually so helpful

velvet orbit
#

Wait so is this the server you're talking about or do you mean to shockbyte

ornate mist
#

once you download the files I linked you will extract and copy the contents to shockbyte

velvet orbit
#

Okay thanks

ornate mist
#

but the file fabric-server-launch.jar you will rename to custom.jar

velvet orbit
#

After I extract or before

ornate mist
#

after you extract the BCG+ 2.1.1 Server Files.zip

#

this is the contents

#

you will copy all of it to shockbyte

#

you technically dont need the .bat or the .sh

velvet orbit
#

Sorry file transfer is taking a minute

ornate mist
#

no worries

velvet orbit
#

Okay, so we did all of that

#

Do we start the server now?

ornate mist
#

yes

velvet orbit
#

It worked, ur the best i love u. Thank you so much for your help, we've been at this for 4 hours <3

ornate mist
#

No problem. Enjoy the modpack!

velvet orbit
#

<3

velvet orbit
ornate mist
#

yes

velvet orbit
#

How do we access/enable that

ornate mist
#

stand by for instructions

#

you will probably have to set up a port and edit the config

#

but the voice chat mod is included in the modpack

#

Just follow the steps in the Configuring Simple Voice Chat (Fabric)

velvet orbit
ornate mist
#

normally a plug means you are not connected to the server

velvet orbit
ornate mist
#

Yeah

#

The VC client cant connect to the server

velvet orbit
#

Ahh okay

#

One sec

ornate mist
#

the server is not setup properly

velvet orbit
#

Which do we install?

ornate mist
#

It should already be installed

#

The issue is you have to configure the port
