Easier to progress schedule-wise if alone and not have to match schedules and timezones.

But not having a sounding board or able to discuss with others is why we use this channel.

#

If looking for a team, you need to match free schedules, timezones, time commitment availability (working fulltime, schooling fulltime, unemployed, etc), experiences and skillsets. Some also prefer chatting using mothertounge.

#

If I could offer one advice: READ! Everything we need to know is all published publicly. In the previous 5Day AI courses. The coming Jun cohort would differ mainly in the last module on productionizing, I think; apart from the model updates or newly introduced skills.md and agents.md.

You can compare the curriculum yourself by searching with 5 days or 5days terms on Kaggle website. Or ask AI to compare and summarise for you, but I think perusing it and understanding it ourselves is more valuable as our brain is the one doing the synthesizing work. Not AI.

And try things yourself before asking questions here or website. And also before asking questions, Search First!

Hello, currently on day 4 - The content is good but the labs are a waste of time, all the code seems to be outdated, i spend to much time figuring out why it fails, the Notebooks should be updated or just simple retire this course. Courses' contents getting stale and obsolete is a bane we have to bear with if we're getting into the "cutting edge" of AI learning and augmenting our skills. Perhaps most important is also learn to read documentation and figure out how to adapt outdated code to the current releases?

fading delta
cunning gyro
# fading delta Could I ask why this certification is unvaluable?

Well, the certificate is rolled out to everyone who clicks the "Join the capstone project" button that will be appearing once they release the capstone competition, so people can join it... πŸ‘€

Personally 🐣, in the last capstone competition, I registered but unfortunately was unable to submit anything. Yet i received the certificate. Do you think that is fair? But still, it's my opinion, maybe some people will find it valuable, but I won't, I personally think the knowledge is what matters + your capstone standings and submission.. πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹

And afaik, companies rarely focus on free certs, as a majority of lads have them... They care about the winnings and leaderboards more 🐣🐣🐣

#

It's my opinion, I'm just criticizing the certificate, the courses they do are decent, I assume this one will be too as always :) people should follow for the knowledge, not for the cert imo

tawdry echo
#

The certificate was originally only for the placed Winners, iirc. Or is it just Swags for winners? But so many complains that organizers caved and diluted the value.

cunning gyro
# tawdry echo The certificate was originally only for the placed Winners, iirc. Or is it just ...

Swags for the winners, I and a few guys got swags too for helping people out during the course..

Certs were for everyone, i believe it's quite fair.. every submission was not worthy of winning, but it was worthy of something, which in this case turned out to be certs 🐣 I still wish they offered two different certs, one for the course completion, other for the rightful submission and not just participation.

tawdry echo
#

Certs of participation is different from Certs for Achievements. Why anyone is clamoring for Certs of participation is beyond my ken.

We won't know until the course/competition page states it, one way or another.
But the past one only awarded certificates when we submit/participate in the Capstone; not the assignments. There's no need to submit assignments as they are not graded or anything.

I don't know if it's still the same for this run.

If you're a technical professional, and not a researcher trying to transition into applied AI, my biggest tip (from my time working at FAANG/AI startups) is to treat LLMs as just another microservice and master the architecture around them, unless of course, you are a researcher.

||I run a channel called The One AI Architect https://www.youtube.com/@TheOneAIArchitect where I step away from the code and just whiteboard out these production patterns. My newest video, The Evaluator Loop : https://youtu.be/0gv0zH4C1Lg?si=VjwJzRz6j58FojyN ; is a great place to start if you want to see how to force agents to evaluate their own output.

You would struggle. Depends if you have other programming language background, too.
Also depends on your time commitments (working/schooling fulltime?) and the available time to spend on this course. The 5 days is very intensive and fast moving. There are not many here who would be available for "hand-holding" you through the steps, as we're all new-ish to Agentic programming. This is not a course for "hand-holding" anyways.
You won't understand the python code, how to create venv, how jupyter/kaggle notebooks work and how competitions are run. Nor how to submit to github. If all those terms are foreign to you, you won't be able to cope in 5 days of learning intensively as an introductory into AI Agents.

I'd suggest to start a Python course, then any other courses on kaggle-learn and the Getting Started Competitions. And join a later cohort for Google-Kaggle 5Days AI Intensive courses.

vernal fractal
#

Ok thank you for the answer. If I spend a bit of time to learn about venv, Jupiter notebook and the getting started competition would it be enough to join and understand enough to follow?

I don't need to be able to do all the task but I really want to understand how Ai agent work.

tawdry echo
#

Are you working/studying fulltime?

vernal fractal
#

I am working but I can ask to use these days as training days.

#

So could be 5 full days on these courses

#

Or maybe 5 half day actually

tawdry echo
#

I've a section on How do I start on my [Ask Ella](#1438117338820903032 message) FAQs thread.

I suppose if you have all the time in the world and not working/studying fulltime, you can start learning python and venv now to have a rudimentary intro into programming with python and basics into ML.

I add here some more tips for the total beginner:

  • The first 4 in the Kaggle Learn Course website, or py4e, or Harvard's cs50p + cs50-ai

  • use uv instead of conda/mamba/etc or just use built-in virtual environment managers. Should be easier as you don't have anything to unlearn

  • learn to use github codespaces (on cloud) and Visual Studio Code (on local with WSL on Windows) on running jupyter notebooks too

  • learn WSL if you're on Windows OS

  • learn git and github; how to push and pull code. you need this for capstone

  • do not use copilot or codex or claude or google's Antigravity or whatever-ai entirely to make your learning faster; you need to do the understanding and synthesizing of info in your own brain. You can use them for research, or summarizing perhaps but not to code 80% of the app/solution.
From experience, each time I use these AI tools, my prompt was not bad per se but not the best either, that I have to recode it myself anyways. The code works on the surface, but there's some things in the logic that is not 100% right. And if you're not knowledgeable on the subject matter, you'd never know the difference. And I'm not using the new things, so here I am learning, especially keen on Day 5's topic.

Learning vibe coding does not just mean just learning Google's ADK, you have to also know how to troubleshoot, read documentation, and the ways and means to solve issues with the kaggle notebook and if not, how to bring it down to local machine and code locally.

So hopefully, you can touch base on all these topics in 3 weeks...

vernal fractal
#

Ah wow thank you so much for all this.

I'd like to add that I'm already a professional UX designer but just doing Figma stuff. Not touching code at all.

My goal is really to have a good understanding of Ai capability and how best it could help my work. Potentially I would sync with dev at work if needed. But my function by itself doesn't require any coding.

I do feel that having good understanding of Ai capability would allow me to better understand new capability and how it could help work on projects.

So with that in mind, even with not fully understanding... I'm hoping it would be useful to understand the foundation of agentic capability and how it could help me design and interact with developper at work.

Do you think if I study beforehand with what you shared for maybe 10h (or a bit more) would be enough for what I need?

tawdry echo
#

Go through the previous 5Day Intensive courses, linked in my FAQ thread. And see if you understand them? And able to follow the codelabs and work through them, not just read the code. And try to update the code if you encounter errors by researching solutions on the web. And timewise, to watch the livestream broadcasts and read the whitepapers.

That'll be the one true test, I think. To see if you're able to follow or is everything just gobbledygook.

Unfortunately, this course's codelabs is written in python, and documentation are in python, java or go (maybe more). All new & unknown to you and python is the easiest to learn in my view.

vernal fractal
#

Ok sounds good thank you very much. I will do that and see if I can pass the gobbledygook test πŸ˜‡

tawdry echo
#

And timewise, to watch the livestream broadcasts and read the whitepapers.

By timewise I mean, if no changes in schedule now, if you can follow the 5Day plan day-by-day as a simulation to the live cohort in Jun later.

And bear in mind, following a pre-prepared kaggle codelab is different from coming up with a capstone idea and coding that from scratch to create a viable MVP that is scoped to be submitted in 2 weeks by capstone's deadline.

vernal fractal
#

Hmm.. yes it looks like very difficult for me to get an MVP shipped without any coding experience. I really hope to be able to understand the fundamental there

Hi everyone,

I’m building AgentLantern, an open-source devtool for AI agent projects.

The idea is to make agent-based projects easier to understand, document, analyze, and visualize, especially when the codebase starts to grow.

For now, AgentLantern mainly supports CrewAI and provides three core features:

  • Lantern Docs: generates browsable project documentation from the source code and configuration files, without LLM calls or API keys.
  • Lantern Lint: statically checks agent projects to detect design issues before runtime.
  • Lantern Play: runs the project and opens a pixel-art runtime viewer to observe agents working, delegating, calling tools, and producing outputs.

The project is still early, so I’m mostly looking for feedback from people working with AI agents, multi-agent systems, devtools, or open-source tooling.

Docs: https://brellsanwouo.github.io/agentlantern/

I’d be happy to discuss here if anyone has thoughts, suggestions, or similar problems in their own agent projects.

Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹
I just deployed a pure Progressive Web App (PWA) on Google Cloud Run (asia-southeast1) that I’ve been working on to solve a personal friction point in data security and talent operations pipelines.
I’m looking for some honest feedback from the community here on its UI/UX, loading performance, and real-world utility:
πŸ”— Check it out here: https://talentsecure-496473828238.asia-southeast1.run.app/
A few quick technical highlights of the build:
Fully Progressive: It runs entirely in the browser. If you install it to your home screen (mobile or desktop), it uses background service workers to handle assets cleanly.
Cloud Run Backend: Deployed as a stateless container on Google Cloud, meaning it scales automatically and keeps latency low across the region.
Focus Area: It’s built to streamline secure validation and compliance handling without the bloated overhead of heavy enterprise tools.
Would love to know what you think about the responsiveness, the onboarding flow, or any edge cases where you see this being useful in your own workflows.

Drop your critiques or suggestions below!

What happens in the console is often not very clear or easy to follow, especially when multiple agents are interacting. This kind of example can help make the process more concrete and easier to understand.

Hold up! This is an intriguing thought experiment.

just wanted to ask, is it actually mandatory to go through all the whitepapers for the course or is having a basic understanding enough to keep up?

How do you plan on designing Agentic Systems if you don't want to read about the concepts? Are you planning to read other textbooks on Agents, or other Agents' API documentation? The whitepaper is summarizing the bare minimum we would need to know to think up and craft a capstone for submission.

No matter how much I rewatch the livestreams and podcast summaries of the whitepapers, I still refer back to the written words. As it is easier to search PDFs and documentation to the exact paragraphs than to scrub a video to the exact timestamp in the video. Especially, if there are no bookmarked timestamps on said videos.

OK, let me ask this another way.
What do you hope to get out of this course? From this 5Day Intensive course?
To submit a capstone from just a basic understanding with no system design or conceptual knowledge that end up on no-one's radar, or to win in said capstone competition, or to just get your toes into the Agentic Systems waters?

I've been seeing posts about AI Infrastructure a lot lately. So, it has been top of mind.

Brenda,

  1. how many registrants have the course been getting?

  2. is the Gemini/AI Studio infrastructure able to be bombarded with that many learners come Jun, and especially starting Jun 15th until Capstone deadline submission?

  3. the course page states the course is free but the ADK API is rate-limited. I've been trying to work through the previous cohorts' codelabs again to refresh my memory (on Free Tier), but keep hitting the rate-limit wall. How do we learn if already the 1st codelab of that day is stuck half-way through?

  4. creating a dummy account since my gmail has already used up the Free Tier for Google Cloud Services is such a hassle. Do registrants (when using gmail accounts) for this vibe-coding course get the API quotas increased automatically without us having to set up the free $300 credits in Google Cloud Console Billing?

  5. I pointed out the typo in the course duration, some time ago. It has been corrected now, thank you. But, they didn't check the next line either? So, is it Sunday (Jun 28th) or June 30th (Tue)?

Submission Deadline: Sunday, June 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM PT

cunning gyro
#

Or just run all the code blocks from starting again, you might've missed an installation one

unborn zenith
# cunning gyro Add a code block just above that and run ```bash !pip install mcp ```

I was trying to follow the instructions that they have provided in the notebook. In section for installation of dependencies for setup, they didn't mention anything on running the command to install mcp:

https://www.kaggle.com/code/an0nymouskaggl3/day-2b-agent-tools-best-practices/edit

And even if it was a miss in their instructions, it would have been corrected out during the course of the program and would have reflected in the notebooks as well

tawdry echo
#

Are you running on kaggle or locally? Your notebook is private so we cannot see anything. To see if the code you have is different from ours. I just ran it - mine is fine (copied and edited since last Nov, though).

So, the cell never produced the confirmation all is well ":white_check_mark: ADK components imported successfully." and you get above error?

The previous cell does give the confirmation about authentication?

unborn zenith
#

I am running both locally and in kaggle in parallel to check what is missing. I got the error of 'mcp' not being recognized as a module. I was going by the assumption that the Kaggle notebooks are correct and nothing is missing. That is why I shared that error with you all.
I still took @cunning gyro suggestion into consideration and installed 'mcp' before running the imports block and the error was resolved.
So I guess, the setup needs to mention that we need to perform 'pip install mcp' before continuing with the execution of the notebook.

tawdry echo
unborn zenith
tawdry echo
#

kaggle has all pre-installed.

The setup section states to install if only we're running outside kaggle environment.

unborn zenith

No I meant, locally. If you had 'mcp' installed locally, you won't be getting the error like the one that I mentioned earlier. In kaggle environment, their notebooks are running perfrectly fine, as you mentioned and I too was able to run them too without any issues.

After installing 'mcp' locally, I too was able to run the notebook successfully in my local setup

tawdry echo
#

Well, should have mentioned from the first that you got that error while running locally only. But on kaggle it is OK.
