I think that would be tough. Especially there is sports news, tech, biz, entertainment etc. 20*365 dump of newspapers wouldn’t be available anywhere. You would need an API to parse data on demand from news syndication sources or buy a bulk API from Washington Post, NY Times etc.

But a promising area, I must say as Apple is struggling with appropriate news summarisation as per latest news.

Hi Kagglers, I have a question. Why does internet need to be turned off for submissions in competitions? I'm relatively new to the kaggle environment so there are many things I have yet to understand

Turning the internet off ensures the reproducibility of your notebook. Notebooks that call for resources external to them might fail if those resources become unavailable in the future. Likewise it lets many competitions limit compute/data/models which can be useful. Every competition is different.

I graduated in Astronomy. Then I pursued a degree in Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering. Over time, I tested many solutions such as a robotic observatory (using IoT). I wrote Python code for data analysis. I developed applications using Chainer and the QM9 dataset to predict, analyze, and extract data from compounds and molecules.

I tested the Gemini model (all of them) by creating an app.exe with PyInstaller when it was released in 2023 for months. I still use it. But being alone and without a partner to learn and study with is demotivating.

Hello Ganesh! Kaggle basically is like a place to share, learn and test about many things baout computer science. Similar to Google Colab or GitHub. And is a good place to learn, find friends, and share your knowledge too.
There are competitions also( i have never tried). Anyway, its a good place to make network, find people, examples, courses....

I don’t have compute. You’ll need to train on your end or use Colab. I can handle pipeline logic, ensembling, eval logic, and wrap-up once I’m free.

You should know audio modeling — spectrograms, CNNs, maybe wav2vec2 — and be down to win, not just submit something.

I’ve done a couple of Kaggle challenges, like March Mania, where I built a prediction pipeline with TensorFlow and XGBoost, scoring an OOF Brier score of 0.25. I’m noob in computer vision but really excited to dive in and learn through the Kaggle competition “Great Daxinzhuang Pottery Puzzle Challenge.” The goal is to reassemble 20,000+ ancient pottery fragments using AI — basically turning broken shards into reconstructed vessels.

I’m looking for teammates who have experience or interest in:

Computer Vision basics (OpenCV, contour detection, feature matching)

Deep Learning / Metric Learning (Siamese nets, CNNs, etc.)

3D Reconstruction (Open3D, mesh generation, point clouds)
