I love to play Monopoly with a big group of friends/family, the games are generally super long but as they say time flies when you’re having fun! We love to come up with different rules and variations as we play such as buying properties as a group, lending/borrowing cash, and giving each other free passes on our properties in exchange for cash or other resources. It is always interesting to see what new ideas someone will come up with and how everyone changes their strategy in response. It’s also a great way to have a conversation because the games go for so long, so it’s a really fun way for everyone to get to know each other better!

If you enjoy Monopoly, another classic (from 1964) that recently got a new version released is a game called Acquire. It's a fairly simple game about building hotels and buying stock in them. You draw tiles (sort of like Scrabble) and place them on a grid to make hotels and grow them, and if two hotels touch, the bigger one acquires the other. As you see hotels growing -- or getting acquired! -- you can buy and sell stocks in them. At the end, the person with the most money wins. I think it's available at most online board game stores, and Amazon.
