Best option unless you invest some money into a computer is like renting AWS computing resources

At least with AWS you get a free allotment of computing per month so consider it

I've seen many people asking the same question, and there is no certain answer I can give you. I personally run on desktop PC that has 2x4gb RAM, intel pentium and some GPU idk even the brand lol. Anyway, it gets me to that crucial point of hardware "choosing", depends very on circumstances you got. But honestly, I would go for any thinkpad laptop (thanks to their construction) - I know friend that had Acer, from post-consumer PLA and it had broken down like in 2 months. SOO, I would not go for anything extremly costly..

if you have the money, I would personally go for NVIDIA L4 as computation GPU, but bare it's not like "gaming style" GPU

There are plenty of articles and videos with suggestions on a "road map" for learning all these topics. However, I won't suggest more than I already have, as the most important thing is to just start and stay curious, and when you naturally come across something you need to research you then do that. The next thing you should learn is the thing that is halting your current progress. If you haven't started anything, then trying to pick an arbitrary learning path isn't the way to go. Right now your path is your Computer Science curriculum, which will introduce you to lots, and should show you how to learn how to learn

what I did was dropped I'd from test and train and then while submission I assigned I'd manually from 1 to smth..for the test predictions which I got and that's wt was causing submission failec

once I brought back the I'd column and assigned id according to what it was given initially it worked

Sort of a master of none. I've used many different development languages in the past but never really committed to any particular one (web development stacks years ago and more recently R, Python and PostgreSQL). I work alot in excel and power BI for my current job but I'd really like to focus on Python and the machine learning libraries within it. Prediction models/tasks are what I'm interested in most and I like to think I can learn new techniques and skills pretty quickly

Just focus on one exercise, don't worry about the rest. Look up the topics that you don't understand. Learning to research and find answers is a skill and you will get better at it, and it will help you in the long run. Try to implement a basic answer, and then slowly improve on it

Completing one exercise from the book is better than zero exercises, so just tell yourself you will do one, not you have to complete the entire book

What are the prerequisites before reading these books? I feel like you need a solid background in mathematics and computer science before diving into it.

These titles don't look very mathematically heavy, but generally the prerequisite to studying statistics is just algebra and pre-calculus. After that you want to take calculus and eventually linear algebra, real analysis and discrete math (logic, set theory, combinatorics) if you plan to major in university statistics.

Yeah, you'll be fine with just a little bit of algebra. The math behind statistics goes extremely deep, but you only need to know it if you plan on becoming an academic.

Data leakage is also bad because you will think your model is doing really well, but in actuality it will perform poorly on new data. It will appear to do well because of course your model can predict stuff, it has information from the testing set in the training set. And because you think it's doing well, you won't know to check until you test it on new data and wonder why it's suddenly performing poorly.
