An enormous percentage of the world speaks Spanish, including 13%+ of the US population and including many countries near the countries working on AI. 🇦🇷 🇨🇱 🇲🇽 🇪🇸

Anyone interested in trying to create AI risk resources in Spanish (such as shareable content or translations of important open letters/short videos)? Especially anyone bilingual who might be able to proofread it?

tasks:
decide on what to translate (such as the CAIS extinction letter, righttowarn, controlAI videos), translate it, make it shareable somehow
help with proofreading content (e.g., scripts for TikTok videos) in Spanish (I kinda speak Spanish and could make drafts, but it would be helpful to get it proofread)

General ask: if you do translate any text into any locale, keep the version of the original content you used as a source?

We will try to set up some central/open resources before too long, and an easy way for us to fail to reuse work folk pioneered is "I think I translated the text that was on the website sometime in June" etc.

I have been making Spanish and Spanish-subtitled content that is doing pretty well. My translations might not be 100%, but people are liking the videos. It's mainly Spanish-speaking people in the US, because my location is in the US.

If anyone is on TikTok and lives in a Spanish-speaking country, would you think about reposing my Spanish content to see if we could get people from other countries to see it? I could also help you figure out how to make these kinds of dynamic captions, if you want to create Spanish captions for video clips yourself. The purpose would be to reach people in Spanish-speaking countries.
