tldr: hybrid French speaking conference on critiques of AI in Paris May 27th--28th

Hi all,

Next Monday and Tuesday (May 27th and 28th, 2024), there will be a two day conference at Université Paris 8 (in Saint Denis). It will be broadcast online via Zoom (see links below).
The talks start at 9 am (CEST) and end at 5:30 pm, with a lunch break from 12:30 to to 2pm.

There are four themes centered around a type of stake related to AI and cybernetics:

Monday morning: epistemology and philosophy
Monday afternoon: philosophy and politics
Tuesday morning: language, culture and writing
Tuesday afternoon: art and design

The audience will mainly be people from academia. Don't expect to hear things related to existential risk.
The speakers I know are interesting and worth a listen.

Everything will be in French!

Hey ! Je pense que ça pourrait être très chouette, par contre je n’ai aucune compétence dans la production de court-métrage haha

C'est pas grave ça. Tu pourrais par exemple présenter le festival ? Il faudrait trouver une dizaine d'équipes motivées pour réaliser des courts métrages en proposant a des mjc et centres sociaux de réaliser les leur pour les présenter lors du festival. Moi je suis développeur et j'intègre des models d'ia dans les app qu'on réalise au travail du coup je pourrais apporter un savoir technique aux différentes équipes qui réaliseraient des films par exemple.

Pas besoin de voir les choses en grand. J'ai a côté de chez moi un cinéma qui serait ravi de nous accueillir. Il y a quelques années un ami a moi avait réalisé ce type d'événement mais sur le thème des conduites a risques. Le but n'est pas de réaliser des films exceptionnels mais de proposer un acte créatif a des jeunes (et des adultes) qui leur permettrait au passage de s'informer. Le cinéma n'est qu'un outil qui pourrait les mener a s'informer sur le sujet.

On envoie des emails a des centres sociaux et mjc et on leur explique le projet. On fait un site pour en parler et on demande a quelques youtubeurs de parler du projet.

Je pense que les écoles d'art seraient friand de ce type de projet, école d'audiovisuel,... ( Je suis dans une de ces écoles à Toulouse )
