I tried testing if any ascension points were lost if trying to raise one of the Unused Slot positions. You lose a point and to be sure it wasn't just cosmetic I disconnected and reloaded and the point was still gone.

Well, I'm a new player and that screen doesn't offer a lot of information as to what to do with it. There's also very little feedback with the controls, and unfortunately, no warnings or chance to review changes before it consumes the point.
