When I quit the game, it gets endlessly stuck on "closing". Task manager cant see that it hasn't stopped running, and in order to play it again, I have to completely restart my PC.

I've pushed a few things trying to fix this, thank you for reporting it. I've got another attempt coming today otherwise i'll put in a ticket with steam to see if they know why this is happening. Can you confirm the game is no longer showing in your task manager?

Yes I can. Task manager had no active processes other than system operations.
