Many of the shields in game are useable by arcanists and druids but they cannot benefit from the 'on bash' mechanic so this just turns these items into stat sticks. There are also a few shields which ONLY Druid and Arcanist can use, the most notable one being Magus Shield which has an on bash mechanic that cannot be utilized by either of the classes that can use it. Not sure if this is the route that you want to be taken but just thought I would point it out in case it isn't.

#

maybe changing some of the caster shields that use on bash to use the on cast mechanic could be something to explore?

I agree with those suggestions related to the caster shield changes too. It makes sense.

on the radar, but will require some work to change, keeping open

Can't it be utilized by blocking. The tool tip says that it will trigger the effects.

Might still want to look at it, but my reaction was "oh cool, the shield class (pally) can trigger on bash, but all shield equippable classes can benefit from the effect through the block skill".

I also immediately thought "well that probably means those proca won't happen too often"

When I highlighted the book I thought it said that. I'm prone to error, so I might have read it wrong.

Also to be clear I bought the game yesterday and don't even have the skill learned, so I was going off a description only, if I remembered correctly

finite shuttle

the 'can proc shield ability'

supple bear
#

Yeah that's what I'm referencing

finite shuttle
#

you may be correct ill test, you learn something new everyday with this game

supple bear
#

Neat

#

I just found this game, but it seems like this could be my next few hundred gaming hours

finite shuttle
#

so I did some testing and you're 100% correct the block passive does trigger these effects but the frequency seems to be very very low

#

like maybe 1/30 successful block hits

#

tested with paladin and druid

remote ember
#

which shield

finite shuttle
#

I tested with the sivakayan shield and slab of meteorite

remote ember
#

its a reduced chance based on the % chance on bash

#

are those both 75%?

finite shuttle
#

yes

remote ember
#

should have been closer to 1/10 blocks

#

could be bad rolls

finite shuttle
#

I'll test again and count exact numbers

remote ember
#

the math is pretty simple, rolls 1d900 (take that D&D) if the roll is < % chance on bash, it procs on block

#

would be neat to scale it off int to give casters a better chance

finite shuttle
#

first test took 21 blocks I will test again

#

this is on pally

remote ember
#

its flat rate right now

#

should be whatever 75 / 900 is

#

as a percent

#

8.3%

finite shuttle
#

35 blocks that time

remote ember
#

i dont see any harm in tuning it up a bit

#

i just dont want raid targets to be stunlocked

supple bear
#

Well if it's a reactionary proc it can only happen as fast as the monster can trigger potential blocks times the percent.

Seems like the stun locks shouldn't be an issue from this mechanic unless monsters have AoEs that could trigger multiple people to block?

remote ember
#

higher level paladins get quite a few blocks

finite shuttle
#

I also assume blocking the raid creatures attack will also be more of a challenge in general cause of their stats, unless stats dont play apart in the block chance

supple bear
#

So it's block chance % times the % chance to trigger?

Yeah I am clueless and it's your game just talking out loud

remote ember
#

they do theres a few rolls involved

#

also

#

raid creatures probably will be relatively hard to stun

#

so theres that too

#

i cannot type tonight

finite shuttle
#

you could do a stagger mechanic where they need to be stunned X amount of times before they actually get stunned

supple bear
#

Do you have to successfully block to have a chance to trigger the mechanic, or does it trigger separate from the block percentage? If it's percentage times percentage that's way different

finite shuttle

#

i found that wild aggro bug that happened in the portal yesterday

#

working through that one tonight

finite shuttle
remote ember

yeah
