#Game crashes after selecting character
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Can you DM me your player file from c:/users/username/appdata/locallow/burgeemeida/erenshor ?
Does the crash occur after you've made a character or when you pick a character slot to make?
The crash is when you hit enter world? Ok got it
Yes
Does the crash handler pop up right away? Does it take some time?
It take some time, during which i can hear the vents of my PC firing up
Gonna play 100 questions with you bear with me
It's ok
Yesterday a reported crash said that the game would just hang and when he clicked his mouse it would fade out the window and crash handler came up at that point
Are you experiencing something similar?
Yes, both with and without clicking
Ok so you've let it idle and it still crashes out on its own?
Yes
LEt me try
Just for troubleshooting, knock the graphics settings down a bit - your pc is more than capable of max but you never know
Tried both options, still happened
Is the game installed on your c drive or is it on a remote Hard drive?
It's on the G drive, which is an INTERNAL SSD with sata cable
Does your created character save between attempts or are you having to recreate every time
IT saves
For kicks, fire up the game and let it idle on the main menu
Go to the folder where the player log is, find ESSaveData, open charslot0 or 1 or wherever you made your character and where it says "Stowaway" or "Loadscene" (not sure which it'll say) change it to "Tutorial"
Save and close
Important to do this on the main menu so steam cloud doesn't overwrite
Then progress to the character select and try again
Well it's lasting longer than last time, but it's basically frozen on "Loadscene"
"Tutorial" was case sensitive, you got it capitalized right?
CurScene":"Tutorial"
Yes, tho the crash handler didn't appear yet
It should be about a 1 sec load time in normal performance
You have me a bit stumped
Ok, NOW it crashed
YEs it's all updated
So we've eliminated a lot of possibilities - the game is saving data, loading into a different scene still crashes, it's not a video resolution issue and it's definitely not a performance issue
By changing to tutorial load-in we eliminated almost all of the game scripts
Do you have any anti virus or guardian software running?
Maybe a strict windows security setting?
The game doesn't communicate to any remote servers except Steam
