I'm trying to climb in RTA for the first time in a few seasons after grinding runes, but I'm not totally up to date with the latest meta.
Can anyone help me pick a core for this season? I'm missing a few meta units like Layla and Tatsuya and a few others.

Please take a look at #guides , there are many detailed guides for all areas of both PvE and PvP (it's not just for beginners) with tons of different team suggestions and explanations of how to rune them.
We recommend completely finishing PvE before starting with dedicated PvP teams. This game is all about runes, and without being able to farm for those runes then no combination of even the best monsters in the game will give you any success in PvP.
The more effort you put into asking for help, the better help you'll get. Show that you've done a bit of research yourself first. What have you tried so far? Based on the suggestions in the guide, what teams do you think would be good?

So what I'm thinking right now is fp water twins (+226) and usually either Oliver or moore (+183) then Jeogun giving a boost to Eludia and then vendhan. depending on the counterpicks I pivot.
I usually struggle into tanky t2 in which I usually draft Douman + chandra and irene if I can
Isis could be a good pivot into t2 I guess

Uh ur a few patches too late for water twins- they’re difficult to tune to now. Not an rta person tho

Basically the s1 boosts by less so you need a way faster follow up than before for a swift twin.
So water one isn’t really a first pick option anymore

mainly cause vendhan is busted
but Eludia is on swift nem and is doing good dmg

Water twins and jeogun were both nerfed from. 15% boost to 10% so you just need to make sure you are tuned if contesting at all.
For a general rule, either of them on topset is no longer good unless you are full swift drafting

But like you said water twins shouldnt be on topset

I play shi hou sekh a lot and split my topset a little so I can make that happen
its worth it
