#is it ever okay to use nat4 skill up event on non PvP monsters?
163 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Following ?devilmon yes
HoH is considered kinda 'hard' content and needs good runes. Skillups don't really matter here. it's fine to just get a few monster pieces and stop pushing if you can't get past it unless you can barely. You can try using reps like verad or other monsters that have cc
im having trouble coming up with adequate damage. is this again a rune issue? or a monster issue? i dont think i have many monsters that hit good AoE. do you have any recommendations?
i have the nat 4 event to pick a monster as well as nat 5. but im assuming those are saved for PvP units?
rune issue, but it's not a big deal to not be able to clear hoh 100%. the first two b's give you enough pieces for a monster which is fine. just focus on progressing and following #guides
yes, pvp units. nat4 event can be used for galleon but again should not be used till you get to that point
is it fine if I fuse some 4 stars to skill up someone like Astar? and use devilmons, 30 skillup from 11th aniversary for other dark light taken from HoH events?
u should not feed devils or take hohs for a monster that has fuseable skillups. i wouldn't consider it a very important priority for astar but u can fuse skillups for her
also please open your own thread
Is there a resource like swfarm that tells you what stats a monster uses? Could be super helpful with sorting through runes
No, that just comes through experience.
if im failing to do sr5 with this team, can i safely assume im just not hitting the ehp thresholds or is there something off with my teams?
When sharing monster stats, take a screenshot from the monster storage building rather than the monster menu. This lets you show stats, rune sets, and skillups all in 1 image.

how consistent is your sr5?
not consistent at all
probs like a 30% pass rate
ill go thru and also maybe see if i need to skill up some ppl
show yr cleansers
Stop looking for shortcuts
Level every mon you are using
And build them correctly
what shortcuts are you referring to?
im not intentionally leaving monsters not maxed out in level if thats what you're referring to
Whatever you are trying to do instead of leveling your units, skilling them up, and following the stat minimums in the guide
im attempting to do just that - the runs are failing so i was wondering how off the stats/team comps are
Team comps are fine
Using cleansers without their cleanse skilled up is not
If it is failing and your shit isn’t max level, that’s a good place to start
Cleansers need vio or 100 res
This is all covered in the guide
And if these are your cleaners, I’m assuming your DDs aren’t good either
i even noted that i might need to skill up monsters
ty for the heads up here - i swapped runes around and didnt realize i messed up the stats on a few of the monsters. this is helpful advice
Word of wisdom, if something is failing, first place to look is back to the guide for that comp to see if it answers what’s wrong
👍 ty
Putting in that effort will often address your issue
And if it doesn’t, it shows people who want to help you that you are trying and using the available resources
yeah im definitely aware of the guide and im going through it. my last like 15 posts in the bot channel is just purely sr5 lmao
just getting a bit swamped with managing the swapping of runes and monsters
when i doubt just read the guide though. fair point
team 1: frontline fedora (L) bella, backline shannon wind homie lingling ardella
team 2: frontline fran bella, backline loren (L) kona wind drunken XL
team 3 vero (L) lulu, backline colleen dogs nangrim
with wind homie > lingling being yr 2 weakest dd's
appreciate you!!! ty
im trying to figure out which stats are more preferable for survival. am i correct to assume that def is weighted a bit more heavily than hp? are there soft caps for both stats? or can i do something like insane amounts of hp and little def and come out with the same survivability?
if there's content where you can be def broken, hp is a lot more preferable. sr5 doesnt has def break so both are fine to use and doesnt make a significant difference prioritizing one or another
i will say though your kfg has too much speed, she only needs around 30-40 speed
Ahh cool!! Thanks for the insight!
Oh really? Why is that? The sr5 guide recommends 160ish speed on DD
And also, are the other non LD KFGs usable? Or is it safe to use dupes to skill up
160 cmb spd is only roughtly +45 spd from runes
u have 26 more on XL
lingling should have the skill ups before XL, and light wants them for siege
I did fuse kfgs to skill her up bc I use her in multiple content and don't regret it. But she doesnt need them so its not an immediate priority
Iirc sr5 req is just 140-150 cmb speed
does light panda warriors passive apply to to ragdoll's passive effect - tooth for a tooth?
does a passive triggering count as attack bar increasing skill?
It should yes
are there ever 50% off rune upgrade events?
im comparing my nangrim to the one in the album and my atk is severely lacking. i have a few questions
- do i make up for the atk with mainly atk% lines? or is there a balance between flat atk and atk% to achieve this?
- does anyone have an example of a atk rune i can use as a template?
- between atk and crit dmg is one preferred over the other? are there softcaps?
atk% is always better than flat attack, regardless of the base atk of a monster
the optimal atk and crit damage a monster should have would be 1% atk to 1% CD
but there's no reason to calculate it so strictly
level nangrim to 40, its free stats
and are all your runes +15? if yes, your rune 4 should be cd%
ah i forgot the 1%atk to 1%cd
nangrim also needs 15% acc, he applies brand + has a chance to ignore defense
he doesnt need to be so fast
and yeah slot 4 is CD for me
150-160 cmb spd is sufficient
ah right that too
your nangrim has 52% resistance, thats a lot of wasted stats
you're doing something very wrong when it comes to just the basics of what runes you're keeping or runing or using
if all your monsters look like that
maybe start with showing some runes from a giants 30x that you're choosing to roll or throw away
i was mainly going for survivability at the start
so i was looking to just hit big HP lines
are you done with the event?
like are you on the unlimited portion of the shop
oh ummm
i think i cleared out until shop 2
im pretty hesitant with buying out stuff
wait have you been playing since beginning of event
yes
ok so first of all
i have currency for sure
you just don't play this game enough
hahaha probably
i take it kind of casually
i do try and get in some time when i can
i mean you've clearly tried to read through the guides and play this game correctly
but it almost feels like
with the limited time you have
you've spent way too much of it reading and thinking and asking for help
than just simply farming and playing the game
what you're saying is definitely true
you're struggling because you just haven't farmed
i did farm, but i didnt go through runes yet which may explain the mess of runes i have currently
that's part of farming
my rune inventory is around maxed out
start going through that first
you should never have any unrolled runes in your inventory
i mean that's like working a job
and then when you get a paycheck
you don't cash it
and then you ask
how can i afford anything? i dont have any money
hahaha yeah fair
and what you said about playing the game would solve a lot of my issues. a big issue i have is that i keep runes i rolled on bc im not sure if theres some monster out there that uses the rune and so things keep piling up that way 😂
the album of monsters and stats is really helpful tho in regard to learning
with the album im able to avoid asking a lot of stupid questions
too bad swarfarm died
and just comaring stats etc
you could have seen individual runes too
yeahhh that would help a ton
but the album is still solid as a place to reference
in regard to looking at specific runes, i mainly go on youtube or something
i can grab a few though hold on
one thing that really solidified in my mind after looking through the album was the idea that rune sets are just stats at the end of the day. seeing some monsters with like fatal/blade with insane HP really hammered home that there isnt one 'correct' way to rune a monster. and that you just need to hit the stat requirements. that was a really cool moment
oooo tyty!!!!
bless you tysm jx9
following the guide i also started dumping energy into sr4/sr5 and getting those grinds
its super fun spending those items
what monster are these runes on @deft dove ? nangrim? or is it just an assortment of runes. im looking at the def lines and im assuming its for added ehp
nangrim
ahhh awesome
yeah its so cool that all stats are important
this is a really good benchmark for future learning
tysm
appreciate the effort
what monsters use accuracy slot 6?
?tianagalleon, fast debuffers who want 85% acc
is there a guide somewhere recommending which engraved summon banner to select?
?sstones
Top 3
- **Galleon **(water pirate captain) - helps to speed up beginner GBAH which is super important because that's the only rune dungeon you should be farming for the entirety of PvE. Also a must-have for siege and arena offense when you get to PvP.
- **Astar **(fire magic knight) - Necro is the hardest PvE dungeon in the game, and she is one of the best monsters for it. She's also useful for monster subjugation, SD farming, speed clearing of ToAN, time limit stages in lab, and Spiritual Realm.
- **Lushen **(wind joker) - essential nat 4 for arena and siege offense in PvP. Also used for end game speed teams in Steel Fortress.
Other important PvE monsters
- Sabrina + Talia (water boomerang warrior and water chakram dancer) - great for speed Dragons, Rifts, and Raids. Usable in Necro and siege offense but not ideal there.
- **Abigail **(water cannon girl) - another ideal monster for Necro, but not used elsewhere like Astar is.
Versatile siege monsters - Siege is the easiest PvP area to get into and also the most rewarding
- **Mihyang **(water sky dancer) - great for both siege offense and defense. Also usable in beginner SR5 teams.
- **Triana **(wind harp magician) - great for both siege offense and defense. Also good for arena defense.
- **Carcano **(fire sniper) - great for both siege offense and defense. Also ideal in dimension hole raids.
If you have everything on this list and are looking for additional elemental nat 4 options, see ?sstones2
ah tysm
for this event - we can choose up to 5 rune sets to redeem. im assuming the below:
- violent
- will(?)
- fatal
- blade
- swift?
let me know if there are more recommended rune sets!
violent will despair swift pretty much the best option for the first four. then the fifth one is really up to you. some do rage, some do fight.
thanks so much for the insight
this is such a great piece of info for players getting into pvp but to narrow it down even more, is there a recommended top 3 for a player who hasnt touched pvp at all? like is there a super super core/important monster to get here?
post ur box
the most important part is: what content do you plan on playing
i got this from the create your rune event
are these base stats good enough to go onto the next step? or do you guys recommend to get higher
gotcha tysm
are these worth buying?
