I'm having a very hard time with picks and bans. I know it's a relatively simple concept, but I keep getting caught up in "what counters what" and having a hard time synergizing my teams. Any tips are greatly appreciated. I'm sure I speak for many when I say this is not easy in the slightest

  1. There is no 'best team' in RTA. It's a relatively complicated gamemode where you pick based on the opponent's picks to try to counter them, usually by using the current meta units. This is not something you learn in a day, it takes a lot of RTA matches to get familiar with what works. Posting your box and asking what you should use is not a very useful question as it takes trial and effort to find what works for your account.

  2. It's recommended to check what the meta units are (https://swarena.gg/), and to check other people play rta to see if you can replicate any playstyle. To see others play, you can ask friends, see what streamers use, or simply use the ingame replay tool. In the replay tool, you can sort by specific units to look for. The one video we do recommend watching is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KT2G7niC97s but please note only this specific video and not any other videos from this channel is recommended.

  3. Once you try a bunch of stuff and find some playstyle and core of units that you are comfortable with, you can ask better questions in #1047269577614164098 like asking which runes/artifacts are recommended for a unit, or you can show a draft you lost so others can give their opinion.

  4. Also remember that RTA is tough endgame content, if you aren't somewhat well farmed in all areas like runes, artifacts, grinds/gems, or are missing key units, it might be too early to focus on RTA. You can still play it to get rewards, but it's not necessary to take a lot of time to optimize your RTA builds yet.

check this out, and come with real game examples (showing drafts you lost)

#

an hopefully someone with rta knowledge can help you (we dont have a lot of rta helpers here so a lot of rta questions are left unanswered)

Fair enough! I'll use the resources and come back if I have any additional questions. Realistically it's a lot of the same drafts I have problems with. Leo ragdoll, counter teams, basically a bunch of teams build to be as annoying and turn 2 as possible. Then people ban my ethna (my fastest unit) which ends up really hurting my thought process

the second point is very important, if you know your core you can look up high ranked players who play the same core

#

and see how they deal with annoying drafts

#

(you can search them through replays and then filter by monsters)

Then proceed to post drafts that ur unsure about

#

getting reps is important to understand how units interact

#

You will sooner or later see patterns etc.

i find its really helpful to deconstruct drafts aftewards:
go back and look and think "when i had picked my first 2 units, they took these 3 - what was the best thing to pick next given unlimited time to think"

Most nat 5's are 6* max level, some of the more common meta units are maxxed skilled as well
