well it does say "2aIcaru needs 3301 def to bring 3 monsters for team up and 35 ac" so i thought guard would be good for that

that is quite literally the hardest part

slot 1 swift with acc/spd
slot 2 swift def% with acc/spd
slot 4 swift def% with acc/spd
slot 6 swift def% with acc/spd

and u might not even need 1 or both on the runes above for substats

and yr 2 hardest runes
slot 3 with 24%+ with def%
slot 5 with 24%+ with def%

and 2 def artifacts

and you should be very close with just the above

ik i can improve them a bit

but thats while i have the 15% guard rune boost and its still 271 defence short

even with the 15% guard boost i would still need another like 35% defense increase

im still grinding to try and get runes with better flat defense increase

but i dont see how it's possible without the guard runes that i already have on

You just need better runes, it’s that simple. These runes are very low rolled and are missing grinds

Plenty of players build icaru without any guard or determination sets

You need +2381 def from runes unless you have determination sets. How you get there is up to you. If you use better runes you can put icaru on some other set that actually helps your team instead of guard
