So I have gotten to the point that I have autoed GBAH and ran it 100 or so times overnight and now I have to deal with upgrading runes.
I was reading the upgrade guide and wanted to clarify what it meant

"Team 1 Upgrade: Vero and 2aKro
Vero: Spd/CD/HP, 100% CR, 45% acc, 180 cmb spd, 120k+ EHP
2aKro: ATT/CD/ATT, 100% CR, 169 cmb spd (can be lower early on),"

does the spd/cd/hp and att/cd/att mean what rune sub stats you are looking for? and also am i supposed to try to keep the same rune sets that were on the beginner team guide (like stay fatal if i was using the starter fatal set). I read a couple rune guides in here but its still a bit overwhelming to look at for the first time and figure out what to upgrade or not and what can replace what I am using already

spd/cd/hp means rune 2 spd, rune 4 cd%, rune 6 hp%

So like, from the other rune guide, this confused me.

Attackers: Every attacker wants CR+CD
So one or both of these with ATK/DEF/SPD/HP is a rune that should be rolled. blue rune with CD & ATK? roll it. A purple rune with ATK/CD/DEF? roll it. it's either a def based or an atk based attacker rune. Sell if it rolls DEF & ATK

The part where it says sell if it rolls def & atk but it says to roll the purple rune that has atk and def already?

yes, so you roll it in that you want a lot of either atk% rolls or def% subs. if you roll both then it's kinda waste because it's either now a pve rune or you won't get a lot of mileage of it and you sell it

#

some monsters also want ehp and you can grind it

icy shuttle
#

oh okay so its saying its if the 4th roll is flat its bad not the actual combo in the first place

uncut fossil
#

no, im just talking about if it happens to roll subs for atk and def

icy shuttle
#

yeah flat atk/def instead of %

#

or no

uncut fossil
#

oh, the guide assumes % in this scenario

#

there's cases where flat stats are useful though, for example fat lushen that only needs 3 stats (cr cd atk)

#

but most of the time when rolling people always talk about % stats

icy shuttle
#

wait so then whats bad about rolling another attack %, like the purple rune has atk/cd/def and then it rolls atk again why is it bad in a way it already wasnt bad if ur wanting only atk or def rolls

you're misunderstanding this section

#

there are dmg dealers that scale off either ATK or DEF

#

if you get a dmg dealer rune that rolls all into DEF, then you put it on a def dmg dealer. you do the same for atk

#

if it rolls into both, then it's even more niche because it'd be functionally a blue rune for either dealers

icy shuttle
#

okay so sorry but im still confused then, is it okay for it to have a 'wasted' roll like the first def roll on a rune for someone who scales with atk like i still dont understand how that purple rune the guide references isnt already ruined when it rolled both atk and def already

uncut fossil
#

well, you can if you don't have any other runes then ofc. you always compare your own standards against what runes you have and not any other player or guide standards

#

it doesnt mean its immediately not unusable, for example PvE mons who need ehp can still use it

#

but pvp where some job that you don't need ehp and want to cleave or just bulking up a lot of damage, that rune is definitely worse than rolling all in atk

icy shuttle
#

okay thanks that makes sense

uncut fossil
#

also one more thing to note is that atk% is absolutely useless for def dmg dealers, apart from niche cases like kaki that scales off def (but people usually rune atk/atk/atk on him anyway) because their skills scale off def only, so that's a good reason to not have missed rolls into atk% because then you can gem it out
