Keep hearing rumors that Gray Zone may be coming to consoles, has anyone heard anything definitive on that? Seems kind of a far stretch with this generation of console for something so gorgeous as Gray Zone. By this time next year I plan on being on PC again this will definitely be the last Xbox I buy lol.

Still it would be nice to have something solid AF like Grey Zone on console. Seems like console is taking a huge step backwards in quality n scope of games which is weird considering how much potential something like a series X has comparatively to last gen. All the more reason to build a rig again 😂.

Consoles haven’t been worth it for two generations now IMO. I bought a PS5 strictly because Sony was still hanging onto their exclusives and now they’re realizing the potential in fully supporting the PC market, all you have to do is wait a year or two after a title releases.

Outside of the money aspect (which consoles are only bridging the gap in lately between price of one or an entry/mid tier PC) there is zero reason to buy an Xbox these days since every single title at this point is also on PC unless there’s one or two that maybe I’m not thinking of

Yea I agree. Just have so many long term bud's & family on Xbox I just let PC go year's ago. But it's beyond time to get back on, I miss it so lol. Xbox peaked on 360 for me, after Metal Gear Solid went multi platform I didn't bother keeping up with PS after PS3. I'm just debating on piecing together parts over time with sales n building one again or just takin the easy route n ordering a premade from someone like Meta PC's, I tend to gravitate towards Vet owned companies like them lol.

Black Friday is coming up, there’s a lot of good deals that end up happening on various websites like Newegg, Best Buy, and microcenter that would help a lot of buying everything and pcpartpicker.com is goated for tracking pricing and comparability of parts

Every so often when it’s time for a complete upgrade I go and create a list and let it sit before I pull the trigger, so now since I’m still early in my current build I’ll just grab a new card when the time comes and slot it in and be good to go until my next complete rebuild

Building a pc is much easier than it sounds. It’s a fun skill set to acquire for gaming, and like stetchkov has said it you will accrue more savings as you go. If you have a microcenter near you, you can go into the pc part section ask for help give a budget and what you need and they will help you out that is what I did for my latest computer as I didn’t feel like doing the research myself but I did want to build it since I sourced my graphics card myself.

The big thing I wish they had implemented was a cancel lz function. But I also believe in making stupid decisions and making people feel bad for doing them. If you want to insert as close as possible to a hot obj. That on you. The games motto is “every move matters” and sometimes you have to be smart about moving on objective.

I played not super recent but recent enough to say performance is better, not great, but much better than launch.

I use the M4A1. I like the variable zoom and the rounds drop reasonably common in higher level zones like fort. The photo you have of the Ak74 is not bad I just don't like not having the option of variable zoom.

I never played Grayzone Warfare but it is on my Steam wishlist.

It has its own unique frustrations they are different because the games are fundamentally different in how the players interact with the greater world of the game.

Tarkov allows players to interact with the greater world via the main menu whilst gray zone doesn’t, you log into a server to interact with your stash and trader via a tablet.

Once in a server in GZW you spawn at your factions spawn, there you will see faction mates and guards for your fob. There are two other identical fobs for the other two identical factions. Once you have your tasks and your gear squared away you can enter the play space either by moving on foot or requesting a helicopter to ferry you to a preset lz location. LZs function as spawn points, while you don’t spawn there but instead fly in real time to and from you cannot deviate location once set in motion requiring players to take a gamble on whether or not an lz is hot with enemies waiting for players to land or waiting for their own pickup helo. This can cause an issue where unprepared players are ambushed on landing wasting a multiple minute long wait period. Every server always has 48 players split among the factions evenly. So while you have friendlies on the map you always also have 32 enemy players in wait.

There are some interesting new systems and mechanics that differ from tarkov and for what the developers are attempting and what they have shown with .2 update is that the quality of their work WILL improve and eventually deliver an excellent product.

I do not recommend anyone shell out the sheckles for the large version of the game but for 30 bucks it’s a decent tac shooter that allows you to play in either pvp or pve.

Another huge issue is factions you cannot squad with anyone who isn’t in your faction. I know a handful of folks are csi and some are mss in the server and there is no way to change faction unless you wipe your character and start over. Which if you get decently far it’s not a fun thing to do since progression is slow

Np I know it’s a lot of word vomit. But that is the best I could really boil it down to the most immediate differences.

I’ve had a decent time playing the pve only mode but the other factions exist and while you can’t damage each other you can obviously with no real consequences grief other players by stealing loot or killing bots that others might require for quests. The game has multiple ways to make an income playing the game with new valuable loot items.

But the pve community is actually pretty wholesome I’ve ran into lots of other guys from other factions and they neither stole loot or kills.

It needs more time being developed before it would make sense for us to try to support it. We can do a lot to try to make games work for us, but it's just not there yet IMO. The reality is also that potential new games need support from the membership to make a starter platoon happen, and I would make the assumption that we don't have said support because of the former.

And for what it's worth, I too would like to see us support it eventually.

Yeah I think there is a stigma for games being required to have certain features for it to be Cav supportable. When all it takes in reality is someone to gather folks and just play the game every week. After spending time in ACD and being in the leadership for one of the platoons ,my expectations for games being Cav worthy is at an incredible low. I stand by and try to reinforce its never the games we choose to play but the people we choose to play games with.

If swrp can start a platoon so can gzw in its current state.

Features and stability would help a lot though lol.

Honestly i would love to see the game be updated enough and have enough content in the game for it to make sense to make a platoon since with every big update would come more and more things for everyone to get accustomed to which would make it harder to stay up to date with the SPs having the SLs constantly having play the game to stay in the loop make new manuals and stay ahead of everyone which would for them that basically means they have to play the same game for hours which not everyone has the time and dedication so to make a platoon honestly it should first make it out of early access also SWRP in my opinion was a flop with only some ppl actually doing trainings for their platoon but mainly it was me and Maddox (we are squad) and they didn't have anyone else running the bootcamps from their own platoon obviously i didnt see how it operated so i will not speak on how well they functioned as a platoon but it was slightly ill prepared

Unfortunately the games are relevant, but yes the membership involved with them is just as, if not more relevant. We're never opposed to trying new things, but we did try quite a lot of new stuff over the past two years and gained a lot of experience with where the failures occurred. That is why we have a threshold now requiring specific numbers of interested troopers that are willing to transfer/enlist and what the games are offering at the time of implementation.

Full transparency: I'm not involved in that process anymore, but a lot of the leadership team I worked with when I was involved and still communicate with are still involved and I don't believe much of the perspective has changed with that. I'm not pushing back because I disagree with you, only responding because the reality is we volunteer our free time to the organization and starter platoons are probably the most rewarding and at the same time potentially disappointing times we can invest into, and I think it's important to keep that in mind when talking about implementation of new AOs.

honestly starter platoons are a blast. I just think the games like GZW, RoN, EFT, CS2 that dont really rely on cav resources are the easiest to stand up. Just getting them going and recruiting from the game's community is like just gravy even if the AO fails so what, didnt cost money, and membership has the potential to grow with folks falling in love with the cav a transferring to another AO

A lot of folks always give made up excuses to not joining a starter platoon, "If it gains traction". Like just join, get excited about the game put some extra time into it. ROLL YOUR SLEEVES UP, just a lot of wishy washy people thinking transferring out of a platoon ends their career type stuff.

Definitely don’t think the comparisons made were in jest. I think any cav game is viable and worthy of time. I use it as an example because it is a clear outlier when it comes to games that have been supported. The cav could support aim labs if it had the level of dedication by the members of the AO required. I definitely think members who have been around the block should take some time and learn on stepping up an AO.

right now its FOMO mainly. the game is 0.3 early access and probably gonna take another 2 years to see the end of the tunnel for most content

If you like Tarkov, its fun in that aspect, however I wouldn't be talking about the PvP part of the game.

The pve is pretty decent experience for the first 5 hours you can spend a lot of time in the first town without having to go back.

I think the game now is leaning into less down time, more playin in the field with the new cops acting like a hub to turn in quest items, get access to the stash, and respawn.

While everyone will say that the game needs work I agree, but the work so far is promising.

if you're interested and willing to invest for the long run, get the standard edition first. put time in and play it, you'll either immediately appreciate it and what they're trying to achieve or you'll refund. most of us i think started with the standard edition and then upgraded to supporter after multiple hours

I've done all the harder quests on PvP so far and its way more fun as you take your time and deal with the ai better as a boost too. I always find just telling people in chat where your going for you call in the Heli gets you a few bodies with you too. 😄

I'm enjoying attacking the outposts too. A fun back and forth but you have to have some cash to burn to really enjoy it or be ready to loot loot loot.

the main issue with pvp is people litterally just camp the LZ's. You can land somewhere, step off the helicopter, and immediately die without having a second to even react. I'm never playing pvp until they find a way to fix the camping LZ's problem

I find if I'm in it for pvp i land further off if they own the cops nearby . Always assume that Someone landed just before you. But I get you. It can be whack. I'm away now but I'm down to get a weekly event night on the go if that's something we are thinking about. Would be excellent to actually get together and play! I have done 150 off tasks but the tiger bay ones and issue in PvP for me
