I got tarkov a couple days ago its been a lot of fun, I tried pve mode also since it was suggested been really enjoying that also.. still super new/trash.. not set on pvp or pve just yet

yea I've been learning ground zero its been a process lol but slowly starting to...
ground zero blows for learning the game, i’m not sure why they even try to pretend it’s a good starter map. use the practice mode to your advantage so you’re not constantly going broke and losing gear. i recommend factory to grind out getting used to movement, key binds, and understanding recoil mechanics for whatever beginner gun you want to use.
don’t be afraid to abuse the shit out of the single fire VPO aks either, i’m a huge fan of the 7,62 one for early game since you can scrounge ammo off SKS scavs and other scavs with that rifle
plus aim is king, if you’re constantly getting headshots and training yourself to make those shots you don’t have to worry about dealing with armor or other BS
AK series that have N at the end of their name are also goat for early game because you can use the dovetail mount for cheap optics. an AKMN or AK74N with dovetail red dot, wood foregrip, and eventually a buttstock pad is pretty good for recoil mitigation while being cheap

I've never seen so many dudes just hiding in a bush. Like bro...I'm just trying to get the damn pocketwatch. With the audio changes it feels like it's even harder to hear people too. I feel like if someone is in a bush the bush should be moving a bit and soumd loud sounds.
Make it so players that choose to sit in a bush have SOME disadvantage be it movement, inability to ADS, etc.
I'm just gonna bring like 20 nades and start nade checking every bush around RUAF

There is PMC penalty for sitting in bushes for too long and such. I wish Parmesan would come hunt them more often
They do have slower movement speed and LOS at times in bushes but obviously that doesnt deter people enough

I just picked ground zero because its one of the first/only maps I tried and I enjoyed it more than factory.. I noticed the difficulty on factory is normal a lot of the time but I've never seen ground zero at something other than insane.. idk what that means
I also prefer the urban setting but I get why people like woods it looks a lot like dayz

been really enjoying the pve mode I still get my ass kicked by the PMCs every now and then.. I started trying out factory more to try and get more used to the movement like stetchkov said and I ended up getting some pretty cool guns out of it will keep trying new maps slowly.. I also really like the size of ground zero it's big but not too big
also it took me awhile to realize stuff spawned sitting on desks and that I could loot stuff like toolboxes and pc cases.. made it feel a lot better looting as scav lol.. I also accidentally killed a boss as scav because a pmc shot me and ran off and I looked around a corner and saw a guy I thought was a pmc.. oops.. lol
also also got ripped off by the fence because I bought a weapon repair kit without realizing it was completely empty 
also also also why are armor plates so confusing I have no idea what goes with what, I wasted a bunch of cash on that too 😐

Factory is the “clusterfuck” of all maps in Tarkov. But you are playing it right as it got its new rework, it was way smaller and crazy before
Armor basically goes into Tier 1 to Tier 6, with 6 being the best. You can have either full armor (armor slot) or an armored chest rig (takes armor slot + chest slot). You insert different plates into different carriers
There is tons of loot when you know where to look, some of it being “garbage” and is not really worth anything unless its useful for like hideout, barter, or whatever

So your “scav” character is basically just a freebie to do whatever you like: resource run, hunt PMCs, whatever. You cant quest on Scavs but you can keep or sell whatever you want at the end

I played one round of PVE yesterday to check out customs, spawned at checkpoint and made it to 2 story dorms, got charged by goons and killed them, went to 3 story and see what looked like a scav, ADS and get 180 head eyes by partizan. Inventory error and got everything back. Decided to put it away until launch again lol

Tarkov and GZW both suffer from superhero AI unfortunately and it's just not enjoyable. I don't want them to be hero shooters, but I also don't find it enjoyable to plainly see AI coded to detect being aimed at and respond immediately.
I definitely have a mixed feeling about bosses existing in Tarkov anyways, the increased health pools for them while allegedly trying to be "realistic" has never been that great in my opinion.

yeah, my old duo and I played PVE for the first time last night on Ground Zero. We were right outside the bank and eventually resorted to going up and using the MG to just waste 4 PMC’s seven or eight scavs lol.

I agree, the ai seems to prioritize noises cause by the player not pther entities on the map. I don’t know how but I’ve also been screwed over so many times by the goons on customs. Pushing me literally anywhere on the map.

Make sure you select BSG servers when picking the map. It will reduce boss spawns from 100 to 25%.

the only reason it was an option was not to overload bsg servers. 1 server per person on PVE compared to a dozen jumping into one server on PVP + player scavs.

BSG servers boss spawn changes based on time of wipe. A fresh wipe will have about 6% and it will go up as the wipe goes on. Currently it is at 25% and PVE follows those rates even though it doesn't wipe.

It's actually 25% of servers not 25% of the time. So you may run into one over and over again if the game keeps putting you in the same server.

No one knows how many servers there are. We select regions such as US East and it could have a couple hundred servers with 25% of them booted up with bosses.

they addressed every complaint, and tried to fix them all at once, assume at least 60% of the AI issues have been fixed, and theyre at least attempting to fix the other 40% and failing. That's usually how it goes with AI changes lol

I realized I had been running terrible guns for so long on purpose, that I forgot how bad they were i.e. 7.62 MDR, MK47, AK-12, and recently went back to using M4, RPD, G28 and SR-25 and despite the similar stats (with the exception of the horizontal recoil on the MK47) the aforementioned and latter guns are WORLDS APART as far as in game performance

my preference for 7.62x39 would be the RD. For 5.56 its the MDR. for 7.62x51 NATO its the RSASS, 5.45 is the AK-74U or the AK-12. UMP .45 is solid as is a good pp-19 build for .9mm
those are just my preferences. in early game, I run whatever I can get my hands on
the .366 EKO rounds in an VPO is pretty solid.

Each main building usually has 2 on each roof on the guns. Take them out before advancing to the next building. More rogues/PMCs can wonder around the buildings, but are more managable as long as you keep running cover to cover.
You will not get shot running along that path from the start in the picture
and jump into that window
Bring lots of grenades to make the enemy call out their positions when you are unsure if you are alone.

Approaching from the SW is your best bet. If the rogues are there, you can see them clearly on the mounted gun positions both at the South Western corner of the complex, and the southern eastern corner of Building 1 (the western building). From there move through each building in number order to avoid getting caught in .50 Cal crossfires, as usually, 1 round ANYWHERE kills you instantly. From building one, check the Western side of the roof of Building 2 and the northern side of building 3. Once clear you can move to Building 2 but you need to be careful not to get ambushed by rogues on the northern edge of the roof of Building 1: it also has a .50 Cal. Once you clear Building 2, you can usually get into and out of Building 3 without harassment, as any rogues still on rooftops or in the immediate area will have already engaged you. Once you reach building 3, clear the inside, then head to the roof to stave off any remaining enemies. The roof of Building 3 has great cover from all AI enemies and the AI can be easily cheesed at the top of the stairs as well (ASSUMING you cleared the OTHER roofs in order). Remember you need to move quickly and with conviction in between buildings otherwise you WILL get caught in the open, PARTICULARLY if the Goons spawn (They usually spawn near the helicopter in the center of the plant).

I certainly think so. You still get the Tarkov experience of getting head eyes’d out of absolutely nowhere
But you don’t deal with the 120 hour a week GigaChad’s or hackers
I also think the ability to have some goof off fun with friends is a lot easier in PVE

Ignore what the try hard’s on Twitter say, Takov pve is great if archive is not your full-time job and life. 90% of the time you get every single bit of your gear back when you die, 99% of the time you get almost every single piece of it back. And you can go a week without playing and not come back in completely outclassed by the players.
