same problem
Hi all. Try some of these steps, let us know if any help.
Please try the following steps:
-
Verify the game files
Open Steam → go to your Library → right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files → click “Verify integrity of game files”. -
Reinstall the game (if needed)
If verifying doesn’t help, uninstall the game, then reinstall it from Steam. -
Install/repair Visual C++ Redistributables
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
(Install both x64 and x86 versions) -
Run Steam as Administrator
Right-click the Steam icon → select Run as administrator, then launch the game. -
Check your antivirus settings
Make sure both the game and Easy Anti-Cheat are added as exceptions and are not being blocked.
I've done everything and there are 0 results.

Same problem and still not working

Hi All! Something that has helped other players is to reset the config files.
Steps to reset your config files:
-
Close the game completely
Ensure the game is not running in the background.
You can confirm this by opening Task Manager and checking that no related processes are active. -
Navigate to the configuration folder
Config files are typically located in one of the following directories:
C:\Users<YourUsername>\Documents
C:\Users<YourUsername>\AppData\Local
C:\Users<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\
Look for a folder named similar to: Cold War/ CW
-
Rename the configuration folder
Right-click the folder and select Rename
Change the name (for example: HEAT_old)
This step is recommended over deletion, as it keeps a backup in case you need to restore it later. -
Launch the game again
Start WoT: HEAT normally.
The game will automatically create a new, clean configuration folder.
i cant find the configuration folder and i dont have any folder named Cold War or CW on my pc
I dont have "Cold War" either but i found this when i was looking through game files: 2026-04-21_00:00:01.620 | INFO | 0x00001FFC | InprocessEventProcessor initialized

Could you please send us a DxDiag report - https://wargaming.net/support/en/products/wot/article/15177/
I can see that your driver’s last update was on 27.07.2025. Since drivers are updated regularly to fix bugs, improve performance, and maintain compatibility with newer software and system updates, using an outdated version can lead to issues like instability, reduced performance, or features not working as expected.
- Update your graphics driver
Visit the official NVIDIA website
Download and install the latest driver for your RTX 3060 Ti
Restart your PC after installation - Check your monitor refresh rate
Go to Settings → System → Display → Advanced display
Select your monitor and ensure the refresh rate is set to the highest available value - If you continue experiencing issues, consider performing a clean driver installation using a tool like DDU before reinstalling the latest driver.
Still same issue, still not launching at all
Please try to find any config file for the game.
- Press Win + R
- Paste: %LocalAppData%
- Press Enter
Look for anything game related: "HEAT" "CW""Coldwar" "World of tanks HEAT"
Rename the files to old, restart, and launch the game again.
If I update the drivers for my video card, it might break my PC and I'll have to roll back to the previous version...
That’s completely understandable, and it’s good to be cautious with driver updates.
If you’re worried about stability, you can take a few precautions:
- Create a system restore point before updating
- Download the previous driver version in advance, so you can easily roll back if needed
- Use a clean install option (or a tool like DDU) to reduce the chance of conflicts
While driver updates can sometimes introduce issues, they also frequently fix stability problems like crashes or GPU-related errors. That’s why we recommend trying this step as part of troubleshooting. But we respect your preferences. 🙂
Thank you for your reply. Try to check the Steam game folder:
- Open Steam → Go to Library
- Right-click the game → Properties
- Go to Installed Files → Browse
- Look inside for folders like:
- config
- settings
- saved
- user
If you find anything like that, you can try renaming those folders (same idea as before).
