If an NK is a Coven, would the game keep going even if the setting is off?
Because then it'd be better for the setting to be

Anyway, this idea's fine, 'cause it gives me an excuse to make Neutrals into a separate Alignment, which I've already been doing with NWT.

If a coven spawns without a killing role, the coven would immediately rely on getting majority to win the game. That isn't bad necessarily, but it's a big disadvantage compared to the crew/impostor team.
A minimum and maximum amount of NK would fix that problem. On that note, some crew roles should be a toggle (Like madmate addon allows). Sherrif or mayor as coven members can be too strong.
That’s a good point. I think a “guarantee killing role” should be in place, which always guarantees a crew killer, benign killer, or neutral killer.

Sheriff should be able to kill freely as coven sheriff
