Switcher ( Crewmates)
The Switcher can switch only switch with non killer roles like arsonist, Jester etc. if switcher tries to roles with a imp or killer nk they die due to sucide.
But if they don't switch with a killers role they get the role that they switched with and keep it and the player who got switched go's can tries to switch with someone else
depend on the host settings they can switch with killer crewmate role too!

I’m confused how non modded clients can do tasks (if the basis is impostor) and can kill (if the basis is crew) not sure how this will really work out and copycat exists they already copy roles

this doesn't seem possible to me
assuming this is imp basis and u switch via kill button.

then switching w any different basis isn't possible, on top of that you can't pick imp killers or neutrals so your options are very few

(like u mentioned switching w jester which is crew basis-> not possible)

the idea is fine it's just not possible to get an ability button or remove it mid game

if you have a kill button you can't have tasks, vice versa. also shapeshifting roles can only be impostor, you also can't give roles the ability to vent/use vitals mid round, theres a few limitations

You can’t give abilities mid round, ex: you switch imp and snitch, how would the imp do tasks if he still has a kill button? And snitch also won’t gain a kill button, its simply “impossible”
