you dont need a reference just to draw a smile tho
thats a really easy thing to do, especially if its just a simple smile
he doesnt look like hes losing he just looks serious
just give him an angry expression
theres a difference between looking angry and looking serious
if he was actually angry his face would be more wrinkly than how it looks
heres an example
notice how compared to the neutral one, the losing one has more details, like with the nose its kinda scrunched up and between the eyebrows theres extra lines there
just look up references of angry faces
maybe do a study of expressions in general if needed
