Also please provide a clear description of your issue and attach screenshots or videos if possible.
After you done everything you can wait until a Helper assists you. This may take a while since they may be busy or away.

Then make sure you set the right username
you have to use your legacy steam username not the display name

It's no different than logging into the normal steam client, the downloader is basically acting as a steam client. So your normal login credentials work the exact same here as they usually do when you log into steam. If you really cannot get it to work you probably forgot the correct password and you should just try to reset it.
And just please make sure you're actually using the right username
