Error "0xc000009a" when trying to launch siege

I downloaded Heavy Mettle (Y8S3), and copied the contents of the "Y8SX" of the Plazas section in Ressources, because that's what the AI helper told me to do.

After that, I tried to launch my game, but I keep getting the Error "0xc000009a" message, and the BattlEye launcher telling me that I have an issue with launching the "steam_api64.dll" file.

I went multiple times in the R6 downloader to verify my files, but I had nothing wrong going on. I launch my game with "RainbowSix.exe" but I've also tried with all other exe files and even the "RainbowSix.bat" file, but nothing happened.

additionally, when i start the game on the .bat file, it tells me that it doesnt find RainbowSix.exe:

Yes, I excluded the whole r6 folder, including the Downloads, Resources and all the launchers and installers folder. Do I have to get more specific or is there something else I can do?

no i'm not sure what else to do honestly;
Y8 uses the goldberg crack, i don't have any experience troubleshooting it and haven't seen many other users running it; it could be incompatible with windows 11 or something;
maybe someone else can help

you could always try an older season like Y5

sure you can try, don't delete your existing game files, just run the download again to verify them

now when i start with RainbowSix.bat, i have this message and nothing happens afterwards

after you launch the .bat file open task manager and try to find the rainbowsix.exe process, see if it has any CPU activity

also, i noticed that sometimes you use the Cracks folder instead of the Plazas folder. Is there a difference?

there should be no folder called 'Plazas', if you're using the latest bundle of cracks ( #old-guides-and-faqs-mega-bugged message )

i meant, there's the Plazas folder in the Resources section, and there's the Crack zip file. Which one should I use

that probably means you're using an outdated version of the downloader

if you have a folder called 'plazas' just delete it

seems like something's preventing the game from being executed, the exe file is obviously right there;

try opening command-prompt (shift+rightclick the game folder, "Open command window here"), and run .\rainbowsix.exe /belaunch /nologo
