Is there a way that when the placeholder is empty, it returns just a default skin, then once its gotten an actual value, it changes? Because currently as you can see by my screenshot, I have to only use the placeholder once there is already a value assigned. Thanks

unfortuntely this is currently not possible

you can probably work around this with plugins such as ConditionalText
