#FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAKE AN "EXPORT/IMPORT ALL CHATS" FEATURE

I am at a complete loss. I have followed every single piece of advice on this planet to protect my data: I don't clear my cache, I don't run optimizers, I don't use registry cleaners, and my browser windows didn't even close. I did everything "to a T" to make sure this wouldn't happen, and yet, my entire history... months of work.... just got wiped.

...just gone, dude. GONE.

The most heartbreaking part? I can still see the data for a split second when I switch to any of the open tabs I had that I was literally still in the middle of working on. My open tabs have the data in them, for a split second, before it vanishes--- guys, I try to dev tools it HOPING to catch the network tab to see a .json before it refreshes and.... no. It just DISAPPEARS. My stomach is in knots, dudes. I don't know what to say. It’s right there, and I can’t grab it.

There is irreplaceable work in there, including logs with my daughter that I can't just "re-code." I know the standard line is "you should have exported," but when you are in the top 1% of usage, manually exporting every single session is a massive failure in UX. I feel physically ill.

Please-- I am begging you-- just give us a Bulk Export/Import feature. If the local storage is this volatile even when the user does everything right, we need a native way to protect our work. I shouldn't have to build my own Chrome extension just to ensure my life's work doesn't disappear in an open tab.

My cache is untouched for every other site, but my work here just vanishes. I’m seeing the data in open tabs for a split second before it disappears, so it feels like a sync or state-handling issue.

PLEASE, guys. PLEASE.

Why do you use Openrouter for this? i think the chat is just for experimenting with the models not built with intent that it's an actual chatbot.
I built an app where you have all open router models and have persistent history, you can try it out

because it's got the model ranking system im used to recognizing instantly, the features i'm used to, the character importing, the ability to do image gen, and app creation/coding, and evaluating models, and getting multiple responses from multiple models in the same in same window, and api key management, because im making/deleting api keys constantly. And I'm already in their system so i can turn on and off providers for certain models because they don't perform the same, but sometimes when there's not a lot of traffic they perform just fine, so when my outputs are degraded i can easily click into one tab over and adjust that, and also topping up, i dont like to set it to auto so i do it manually when i need to and if I was on a different platform I'd wind up having to go back to OR anyways.

Long story short: convenience, familiarity, and habit. and I use OR on my phone, on my laptop, and having to switch all those over to a new platform and learning all your quirks, and knowing that you wouldn't have all the settings in one place and I'd have to go back to OR anyways would frutrate me even more than I already am. If you wrote a chrome extension, I could F with that heavy. It looks like that's literally what I'm going to have to do. The issue isn't so much "coding" since I use vs code and notepad ++,, it's that these chatoroms have all the context already loaded into them of .pdfs, project code bases, things shared that the models have such a profound understanding of what I'm doing with this, or that within my life, that it would literally be impossible to recreate them. This isn't hard to do. And I see people complaining about it to where it's a persistent topic in the help/suggestion channels. Like, at some point I've gotta think they just leave it for some form of entertainment factor, because a fix this easy that they dont take care of to stop catastrophic data loss for 3 years? Yeah, it's gotta be entertaining to them. That's the only logic I can come up with, because you're not too busy in 3 years to fix something as simple as an export/import all option that literally makes your platform so fragile that a user's entire corpus of data can be deleted when they don't clean any cache at all, and every other site's data is still sata, and the tabs were STILL OPEN and chrome never closed-- like, I dunno man, that's a UX problem. Unless you found it so entertaining to laugh at people who lose their data that you do nothing to address it in multiple years.

I have those features too you can compare models and branch them easily. Give it a try!

#

Otherwise dm me what’s you’d like to have I can build it for you

#

You can export that to json using an extension

#

However no one accepts that format for import

#

So it would just be to look at your conversations

#

Furthermore I just switched to openwebui

#

With openrouter specifically, it has it’s quirks but it’s better than having to look out for your chats suddenly disappearing

#

I do agree I want a export all chats feature

#

In the other thread requesting this feature, I highlighted the implementation plan

that's all I'm saying dude. like as someone who makes probably a dozen new chatrooms each day for my PERSONAL use and another few for professional use like... I don't get it man. all the apps I build I route through here too, but, the way it's going? of there was an alternative that didn't just use OR and had the same amount of models and same kind of setup I would switch in a heartbeat. these guys must be swamped because I've seen some pretty gnarly shit in the help section go unaddressed for a while and when they do? the first few messages are like delay tactics just to get em off some "haven't replied to yet" list where they ask a question or ask the user for something that was already in their prior response or they could have easily figured out, so, anything that's got better cs than that? I'm in there, dog. I just don't think they're either charging enough money, or hiring enough people, or both.
