I got a paid plan on chutes AI, but it keeps asking me to enable paid endpoints to use the api, since it burns through free endpoints first. now i got 0.08 negative on my account at openrouter. What will happen if I keep the negative balance? It doenst seem to go up as i use now, but I dont want to owe anyone money. I set chutes ai as my default provider, but I cant seem to get working without paid endpoint option disabled.

it's not going up as you use cause youre using BYOK from chutes, which the first 1 million requests from OpenRouter are free
there's no issue in leaving 8 cents negative
did i set it correctly? I paid for a monthly plan on chutes AI
if i dont enable paid endpoints, i burn through open router free 50 daily then i get a error
i like, get 2k responses per day in this chutes plan
i think its 1 million monthly
you do not need to repay the 0.08
you can check on the activities page why your request was charged
maybe you didn't set up "Always use for this provider" in the BYOK page
Ah... yeah. makes sense. I got diferent providers. Forgot to do that at first. I was following a free tutorial but i am using a paid one. So, lets say i wanted to do that again: I enable paid endpoints, but only set my provider as default? Do i enable free endpoints too or disable it?
different icons
yeah checks up. I was getting my response from random providers. Never heard of these
paid tutorial?
no need to disable free endpoints, not related
I was having problem setting my paid api, so i followed a tutorial when deepseek was still free. Thing is, I failed to set my chutes ai as the sole provider.
So i only need to leave the chutes ai as default and force it to be the only provider?
yeah just set that toggle on the Chutes key
Always use for this provider
When enabled, OpenRouter will only use this key for all requests routed to Chutes. If this key is rate-limited or unavailable, you may be routed to a different provider. Pair this with the only field in your requests to ensure they are routed exclusively through this key. For more details, see our docs.
"Pair this with the only field" this is important
what interface are you using? some RP one, Open WebUI, something else?
just RP. Ok I double check, i only messed wiht allowed provider. And checked "Exclusively enable these providers for your requests."
so thats does it right? So far i been using on chats, and my credit is still at -0,08. No increase so far. Any other settings to check?
it wouldn't increase anyway. the negative balance is only for the last request you had credits, to prevent a failed request.
i see. thanks for the help. I read that after you go beyond -0,50 you get a hard limit so you can expend more than that but its good to know. Freaks me out seeing that crap on my balance.
