I mess around with chatbots using proxies, and the 10 dollar supposedly one time purchase is making me purhcase more credits, with the 10 dollars worth being put to -0.01$. Is this a glitch or do I need to buy more?

I'm an AI assistant - my answers may be incorrect and I cannot see screenshots. Please verify information with the OpenRouter docs.

To help you with your credit issue, I need a bit more information:

  1. What is the exact error message or response you're seeing when trying to use your credits or make a purchase?
  2. Did you pay with Stripe, crypto, or another method?
  3. Can you confirm if your purchase is reflected on your Activity page, and what is shown there regarding your credits?

This information will help determine if it's a bug, a billing issue, or something related to your usage pattern.

Meanwhile, if your credits have actually disappeared or your balance is showing as negative after a successful purchase, you should contact the mods through the Discord server for account-specific help. The OpenRouter FAQ states: "If your credits still have not appeared after an hour, contact us on Discord and we will look into it." Refunds for unused credits are only available within 24 hours of purchase via [email protected], but older issues require direct mod support.

Please provide the details above so I can assist further or escalate as needed.

I use janitor.ai, and the message i got was "PROXY ERROR 402: {"error":{"message":"Insufficient credits. Add more using https://openrouter.ai/settings/credits","code":402}} (unk)"

I had payed directly through Open Router, which I believe is Stripe, and it is on my activities page with a visible invoice

Thanks for the details. Since you've paid directly through OpenRouter (likely via Stripe), and your purchase is showing on your Activity page with a visible invoice, but you're still receiving a "PROXY ERROR 402: Insufficient credits" message, here's what you should do:

  • The OpenRouter FAQ states:
"If you paid using Stripe, sometimes there is an issue with the Stripe integration and credits can get delayed in showing up on your account. Please allow up to one hour. If your credits still have not appeared after an hour, contact us on Discord and we will look into it."
  • Since your credits haven't appeared correctly after this time, you should contact the mods through the Discord server for help with your account and credits.

You can also use the credits API or check your Activity page to monitor your credit usage and balance, but for missing or negative balances after a successful purchase, only Discord mod support can resolve it.

For immediate assistance, reach out to the mods in this Discord server. More info in the OpenRouter FAQ.
