#Billing mistake for DeepSeekR1 Nitro via Fireworks

During internal testing on February 5, I encountered a concerning billing discrepancy through Fireworks/DeepSeekR1-Nitro.

Despite using fewer than 3,000 I/O tokens, I was charged $0.80. See screenshot attached.

This overcharge prevents me from launching the feature in production.

I suspect reasoning tokens may be billed as output tokens without appearing in the usage panel.

Could you please:

  • Confirm if this is the cause
  • Provide steps to resolve this billing error

Given the billing implications, I require resolution before proceeding with the production launch.

Your prompt attention would be appreciated.

CC@empty prairie Thanks!

Reasoning is indeed part of the token out

Hmm does that mean reasoning tokens are not displayed as output on the dashboard?

Is there any way to track actual usage?

@kindred ferry the completion tokens that you see on the dashboard include reasoning tokens

@empty prairie can someone from the support team please look into this? I'd like to release this integration this week.
