and editing the db on PB is a recipe for disaster

i highly recommend do not try sideloading this onto your iphone device.

So basically after all that, add 1 random wallpaper, restart ur phone, backup with iTunes, get the imazingapp of that, then restore the imazingapp of the posterboard backup you just created (required)
Then you can modify posterboard with any imazingapp files and it won’t revert back

How to fix broken PosterBoard (step by step):

1. You need to have the old PosterBoard backup (the iPhone 16 backup will work)
2. Backup with iTunes
3. Make an editable backup with iMazing of the backup you've just made
4. Go to the editable backup's file system -> Apps -> AppDomain-com.apple.PosterBoard
5. Delete all the folders and files inside the PosterBoard
6. put the old posterboard backup here
7. Copy the Modified PosterBoard to your PC (it'll generate the .imazingapp file)
8. Restore the .imazingapp file (PosterBoard wont be broken, but if you restore any backup then it'll break again) and go through the setup
9. Restart your phone
10. Add 1 random wallpaper
11. Restart your phone
12. Backup with iTunes once again
13. Get the .imazingapp of the new PosterBoard
14. Restore the new .imazingapp (will still probably be broken)
15. Now flash iphone 16 backup, if it works, congrats, if not, do all the steps again

this should be entirely possible on ios 18 too even if it doesn't accept custom presets

configurations still contain a copy of the actual wallpaper that you are using (in the case of coreanimation bundles and NOT mercury ones)

goodness it broke PB on a completely clean reset OS first-try 😭 importing the regular 16 ones fixed it though, probably due to the file size (556 over 513)

and also, importing it again after importing that PB did something really unique and weird

you can edit the wallpapers and it actually shows the variation names for each 16 Pro wallpaper

however, it's permanently stuck as that solid "placeholder pink" color that shows on the newer wallpapers whenever there's a rendering issue
