You can, just leave in blank the option to change the name and change the dynamic island thing

dynamic island doesnt always show bc of the notch, it pops up when you play music, or other things or touch the notch

i use the 16 pro dynamic island and works for me
it doesnt look bad when im not using it, it just doesnt look at all
