you are using the explicit new tab i suppose

the checkboard pattern is only for the default blank background and not the about:blank page

only because about:blank is also used for stuff like pip and settings page and thus adding pattern over it results in the pattern overlapping with other stuff

I've been using Zen for quite some time now. I'm not the most experienced user, but I do use several mods. However, I've never seen a mod like yours, which is what motivated me to write to you on Reddit (I'm the one who mentioned "catppuccin").

As an idea, you don't need to switch everything to dark mode, although removing the white outline would make a significant difference. But beyond that, you could add adjustments. A section where you can choose from a range of predefined dark colors would make it much easier.

You could add the four color schemes from "catppuccin" simply by adding their respective colors, which are available here:

Or, if you prefer, you can see how the catppuccin theme itself works:

Or to save you the trouble of entering them manually, you could add a setting to edit the color using its hexadecimal code, so each person can customize it to their liking.
