Video DownloadHelper needs a companion app to run. I'm Fedora (Linux), I installed the companion app but Zen didn't found it. However, Firefox found the companion app and extension works properly.

Did you install Zen via flatpak? That breaks some extensions that need to contact companion apps due to sandboxing. Its a flatpak issue, zen can't fix it unfortunately
