#Nebula | A Minimal Theme for Zen
1 messages Β· Page 6 of 1
you just extract it and place it where you want, then open the zen executable in it and boom.
exept it does not show up in my launcher, just in files, thats stupid
and the default wayland icon
That is the portable build, not a proper installed build, not the same
i mean...it works the exact same. all files are in one folder like other installations, profile folders are in ~/.zen/ like usual.
only thing is you have to create a .desktop file.

bro wants to beat Nubulu but not Nebula π
kill the king to capture the kingdom
bros got a long way to go.
i meant nubulu has 2 stars
how do i fix this?
just tried installing and the sidebar ends up opaque and offset to the site, what am i doing wrong?
i installed mica4everyone and all
Go to an image search of anything on Google and see if transparency works there for compact sidebar.
nope
actually wait
yeah
ok i think just enabling/disabling compact mode, switching from one space to the other fixed it
ok actually i had to right click the color in my theme to remove it and then add a color back in for it to start working properly
Wait why is the urlbar outside the sidebar
Oh old msg lol
Discord on mobile is horrible
just came back to this after using a seperate theme and oh my GOD
this has updated so much wtf
i fw this so heavy
So, I am still trying to install Sine, got it to recognize Zen finally, but I still dont have an answer on what it means by profiles and what it expects me to enter into it, there is nothing for this in documentation, so im completely lost here
go to about:profiles
there you will see some options under each profile
and then one you're currently using won't have the "set to default" and "laucnh in new window" option
just select that profile name when installing sine
Okay, I think it is installed, how do I confirm
in settings, zen mods tab should be replaced with sine mods
if it's not, clear the startup cache
if you think it;s installed but isn't showing up
Nope, and I cleared startup cache
can you check if you installed it on the same profile? compare the name from about:profiles
yeah the first one should be it
It says installed, but nothing changed and I cleared start up cache
and the "setting autoconfig fx" popup didn't come up too?
no the popup shows in the zen when you open it after the install
lesgo! how tho
Uninstall and reinstall with the browser itself closed the whole time
But now Nebula does not want to install, I am hitting install, the button grays out, but never does anything more than that
uhh oh that's weird
Its making a nebula folder under Sine mods, but its not actually installing
hmmmm
try any other mod
Tried Neo Zen, installed just fine instantly
Yeah, very strange, I did fix my blur issue though, so Zen is all nice and blurred now
looks like your nebula.uc.js is not working
π₯ yesss
bro why are yall's sidebar fucked up
is there a zen update or smth
wym
is it fucked up?
oh is it the search bar not being centered?
yeah idk why that is
no
what's wrong with it
oh
why yo shit look so different
my zen version is 1.15.5b and i installed from Sine
?
uhhhh
o
always been like that couldn't tell you
i lowk prefer it that way
do you change your wallpaper through bonjourr
yeah
noooo LOL
pretty sure your nebula.uc.js file is not working/installed
althoughhhh
that opaque does look REAL sleek
π
its just a normal solid background
v3.3 π
oooh
its an optional config
not enabled by default
this glow has been in the code since like 10 previous updates, just commented out
oh LMFAO
i think u should add it in the configs
would be also cool if it was customizable in the Sine config with either RGB or color picker
it is
oh what
i changed the whole preferences.json for v3.3
oh is it this or
ah
when is expected release π
idk what else to add
i want to add unpinned folders support but only gemini is taking that much of source code of zen but it does not make great code so that js has quite lot of bugs, basically unusable
so not sure where to start that
i think leave it for v3.4
true
but ig someone will already make it by then
or cheff will add it himself
@strong cedar Hey, I can't seem to install Nebula with Sine, it just kinda grays out and does nothing, refresh, and it goes back to normal, I tried other themes, and they installed just fine
wtff π
what do you mean grays out and does nothing
thats..
what the fuck

have never seen anyone report an issue like this
crazy
it started doing this after i updated nebula a while back, would updating be enough to fix or do i reinstall it
before that can you go to your chrome folder > JS folder and see if there is a Nebula.uc.js file present
Yeah, I went into my profile folder, in the Sine folder, it is creating a folder for Nebula, but never actually installing it
ohh
wait then
i have an idea ig
if that is not working
try opening mods.json
what I am I looking for
"Nebula":{"id":"Nebula","js":true,"homepage":"https://github.com/JustADumbPrsn/Zen-Nebula","author":"JustADumbPrsn","name":"Nebula","description":"A beautiful theme made for Zen Browser :))","version":"3.2","createdAt":"2025-05-31","updatedAt":"2025-09-06","readme":"https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustADumbPrsn/Zen-Nebula/main/README.md","image":"https://i.ibb.co/Lqk4krw/Screenshot-2025-09-03-232353.png","tags":["content","chrome","minimal"],"fork":["zen"],"preferences":"https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustADumbPrsn/Zen-Nebula/main/preferences.json","style":{"chrome":"https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustADumbPrsn/Zen-Nebula/main/userChrome.css"```
do you see anything like this
search found nothing
nothing saying "Nebula"?
Yo why is sine being so inconsistent all of a sudden π
Did some changes and it broke the theme
I thought it was me but it was sine not properly removing the theme
if it is not, i guess sine is installing nebula but not updating mods.json to apply it to zen
Here
wait restart
that was after restart
This is a mess, lmao
make sure you have this in js folder inside chrome folder
idk what else can be done since sine is doing random shit lol
This goes in JS, not the sub engine folder, yeah?
yes
okay
oh what
why does it say ownership root
atp god himself doesnt want you to use Nebula
dnf gods, I am on Nobara
why is it even blocking js folder, thats crazy idk

OH WAIT
is that why sine is not able to install nebula? because somehow js folder is not accessible or smth
try installing this mod in sine
if it works, then i have no clue
yup, that is the issue
it is installing?!
I had to forcefully take ownership of the folder
Why is your top corner sharp but the bottom corner rounded....
Plasma being weird
Thanks! π
the purple glow is based on the browser accent color? would be nice if it could match the favicon color, so red in this case
Dont know if its possible
yes, it is possible since nebula has js now
ok ill try to make it as an option
the extension button is showing while playing videos in fullscreen
also outlines are showing
its more visible here
if u open the image and see the edges
also the top left
it has the extension button
any fixes?
ah shit it doesnt
.
you can try disabling other mods
or trying on a new profile
fixed the extension thing
outline persists
im too tired for this, ill update in here for anyone that has the same issue tmr
if anyone however knows a fix
let me know
sure
@strong cedar Can you make your theme a bit more optimized?
Zen just crashed on my main profile with Nubulu for the first time since months!
what does that even mean
how can it just crash
also
what kind of optimizations do you want
Lemme forward it to you.
@strong cedar https://github.com/Eratas/rapidfox
Study this thing carefully.
uh
You can implement the user.js in this repo by default in nubulu.js.
it has a js? i cant see it
Yes, on Arcline it made a laggy Zen super smooth.
You also try it.
Arc2.0 is already optimized...
So no difference noticed.
None.
how π
Nope, that's for you to do.
Because the risky prefs are not included in user.js. They're supposed to be edited separately in about:config.
I have enabled red ones, and I don't think it's much of a compromise.
btw
there are presets
so
Yes.
how to know user.js is active
In user.js there are many prefs. Just copy a pref in this file and remember it's value. Now go to about:config and paste the pref to see it's default value, which will be different. Now paste user.js in your profile folder, and restart browser. Now again go to about:config and paste that same pref - you'll notice now that default value is changed to the value that's mentioned in user.js.
ok so
here are the results
Im guessing it's similar to arkenfox/betterfox for firefox? But this one specifically for zen I guess?
default zen with no chrome folder
10.9
default zen with the user.js file (idk if it is working)
10.5
A huge difference with respect to perfromance.
uh how
Difference will be greater on lower end devices.
isint it lower now
You got 16gb ram.
Lower is better, right?
no
Wait what you using to measure this?
if lower is better than nebula gets 9.9
Yes.
π
What you using?
speedometer 3.1
Oh, there higher is better.
yeah
But that's weird...
When I did it, I didn't measure, but Zen felt faster fs...
Site loading took lesser time.
btw the user.js preferences should be in about:config right
Yes.
I knew it, something was off!
u knew but
now what
i just pasted it in the chrome folder with nothing else in the folder

Do in a new profile.
bruh
Brh.
does it need fxautoconfig
Remove from chrome.
dont tell me it need fxautoconf
Dude not in chrome folder
No.
ik but idk where else, the instructions say chrome folder
Read again.

Bro has to prove his username every now and then! /j.
ok so
the user.js was applied
and
the results are
default zen: 10.9
user.js: 10.9

Wow, what an improvement.
yeah ikr
Now ig apply some yellow, orange, and red stuffs.
That what must be making a difference for me.
i only found 2 red out of these
both were not needed for me
What about orange and yellow?
Alr, well did you enable all yellow?
Not needed means you enabled it?
no
one decreases ram usage
which i dont need
and one risks security
Alr, after enabling all yellow, tell if there is any increase.
ehh
im to lazy
just tell me stuff to optimize in nebula
rather than user.js shit
which i can actually release in new updates

Gib all your files to Gemini 2.5 Pro and ask it to format and optimize while not losing any functions it do.
uh i have tried doing that shit so many times and never once it delivered something good
because i do that everytime i add a new code anyways
Well then we've hit a dead-end. Except custom user.js, nothing can optimize Zen.
One has to go to about:memory everytime it feels laggy and close to a severe crash.
glad that i never had to go to about:memory
You never worked with 20+ tabs as well. π₯
20+ active tabs.
I did for the first time and Nubulu crashed.
dont underestimate my yt watching skills
skill issue
Oh forgot to mention - out of about 22-23 tabs active, 6 were YT and 1 was YTM.
Rest were university websites, outlook, gmail, few pdfs, reddit and insta ig.
Now I think tbh it was a reasonable crashout.
guys, how can I change the sidebar and url bar to dark mode? mine is always white even if I set the browser to dark mode. It's only dark on private windows.
i wish there was a way to use container color style for the url bar but not the tab glow one, so that i can use the new tab glow option
its set to white probably because of your zen theme color?
oh wait tab glow does not work for containers
good idea
let me fix it
Crazy idea, check dms
very tru
didn't know that could affect it
Is it tint with respect to website icon color?
yeah zen 1.13 or 14b i guess idr brought that feature
screenshot
it extracts website icon color and makes it into a usable variable
can you try going to a website which is not transparent
like youtube or pinterest
and see if it has blur there or not
still no blur
oddly it worked until I closed and opened the browser about 30 minutes ago
mods*
the urlbar itself,no. the rest of the title bar is blurred though
wtff
no urlbar blur??
would clearing the whole chrome folder, reinstalling sine, then reinstalling nebula probably help?
nope
shii
better idea
try on a new profile instead
sure
no blur
yeah
i dont believe it π
it's really weird because I really don't understand what changed to make it stop working
all I did was close and open the browser π
wait
try going to about:support
and clear startup cache
tried it, didn't work
hmm
thats so messed up
I got 11.0 with wallpaper engine running on the background and nebula 3.2 with some betterfox tweaks
No nebula is 11.2
Edge without wallpaper engine got 30.7π π
Ay bro release v3.3!!!
Further ideas you get can be named v3.3.1!
i mean its almost finished
im trying to get active tab glow to work with containers
its bugging
v3.3 will be released shortly on sine too once js pull request gets merged on sinestore
@strong cedar have you worked on some custom topbar transitions? like slide in to reveal the window controls or just default?
its default i guess
idr making any transition for topbar in single toolbar mode
the issue is that I need to slide up the toolbar cuz it is positioned on bottom in wireframe
what null did is working (using root:has(#1088172782178799657-appcontent-navbar-wrapper) to keep showing it but it just doesn't stay while hovering window controls (yes I tried adding root:has for the titlebar too, didn't work)
ugh
might have to remove it all and see what happens then π
hmm
pretty confidant that its default
yeah cuz for top position zen has it already
i think the close tab animation also doesnΒ΄t work with styled container tabs
v3.3 doesnt install with sine @strong cedar
3.2 installs via sine marketplace, but when I manually input JustAdumbPrsn/Zen-Nebula it installs 3.3 but doesnt actually modify the css/js etc (looks default).
uh, thats only when you have active tab glow enabled
i know, "v3.3 will be released shortly on sine too once js pull request gets merged on sinestore"
basically i have to submit the js file to the sine store for inspection to make sure its virus free
so the v3.3 update will come to sine when that gets accepted
ahh ok thanks for the info π
does anyone have css to make the compact side bar transparent?
not completely transparent i just want a little transparent and some blur
just wait for v3.3 it will add support to change this
I feel like my zen is darker than before.....
Nevermind, its configurable. But yes, Where is marginless compact mode lol
it's done ?
it was broken
so i had to remove it in v3.2
had lots of bugs
which i was not able to fix
nogaps mod works fine tho
yes
Welp π₯
v3.3 is released
oh u guys actually used it?!
Ofc....
oh shi
Imma just use userchrome I guess
i thought people just used nogaps and marginless compact mode had lots of bugs which i was not able to fix so i just deleted it lol
Yeah thats okay if you think it would hold nebula down because of the bugs. I'll just add it manually via userchrome and see...
i can try to fix it or make it in a better way
Wut?
It works perfectly in arc2.0
πΏ
idk it was causing topbar visible when it should not be, right side sidebar misaligned, not working properly on multi toolbar
btw
does context menu animations work fine now
it should be free of all bugs now
Yeah, now it's perfect.
Dont mind if I stole it... β€οΈ
You can still keep it and in bracket and mention (ONLY FOR SINGLE TOOLBAR MODE)
but then
isint that same as nogaps
I've only verified it working properly in single toolbar mode
if i restrict it to single toolbar then just use nogaps as it does just that
marginless compact mode should be for all toolbars
ah thats why yours dont have bugs
No because it doesn't get enable if user isn't in compact mode
ehh that sounds a bit silly to me
very specific
Silly thing, but user du want it.
See closed issues of arc2.0.
Yeah, v3.3.0.1, let's go!
Oh are there other new things?
no but prob will be
no plans rn but if i open my css i change random shit in there
Yk what, also add pref to change blur of compact sidebar pseudo bg like Arcline.
there already is bro
nebula-glass blur
Oh that does it?
it changes all the blur nebula uses on elements
can i know what does the URL Bar Animation do? if it's something to do with the URL bar, then i do not get any changes?
the urlbar animation animates the website window below the urlbar when opened
super, thanks
its beaitiful with no border π
ikr
not work
just tried myself, its working?!
try restarting zen or pressing that config again
yes that working . Disabled and enabled mod
yo @strong cedar what is your workflow with AI when adding new stuff like styling for folders. What files do you add as context and what else
wanna learn from a professional vibe coder
i dont have any sort of workflow tbh, someone just asked me to add a vertical line to folders so i tried making them and thought that adding a background to it like tabs would look nice so just copied my tab's code and edited it for folders
if you want to ask gpt to make something, give it your idea and the html of that part so it knows what selectors to use properly
oh ok
yeah that's good I was just using it with my current css and manual context of the html but yeah just giving it the whole html for it makes sense, saves me the headache
why is my side bar unusable in compact mode ?? any fixx
uh
looks like
your nebula.uc.js is not working
check console
Umm how too
that fixed it ππ»
btw, could you please bring back the NoGaps option (for compact mode)? π₯Ί
i just did
there was a very shitty faulty code in there idk how that happened
but now it is working for the most part
will add in v3.3.1
Yeay
very thankyu
"Tab Icon Color" option is not working for me. The "Zen Color" option for the Glow is working, but not this one
Also
The Browser UI flashes everytime i click to open the settings page
i know my UI tint opacity is way lower than default, but this never happened before 3.3
yep, not working for me either
uh can you show a screenshot of how it looks, because for me it works just fine
no active tab glow
active tab glow with zen color
active tab glow with tab icon color
looks exactly like that
whattttttt
h- how
i just installed nebula through sine and it works just fine
um can you go to about:config and search this, if it says 2 then it should work

sine messing up
silly sine π€
and i know that for a fact as my code clearly states value 2 for tab icon color option
and well its working for me

yeah
Set to None
Zen Color
(mine is orange, that is not because of the favicon)
Set to Tab Icon Color
ehh light mode
might just be cuz of that, wait
i never tested light mode since v2
it doenst work on Dark Mode either
In my case I'm in dark mode
and also, for me, the Glow with Zen Color option is way more subtle than yours here, dont know why
hm, alr can you try going to browser toolbox and paste ```css
getComputedStyle(document.documentElement)
.getPropertyValue("--nebula-selected-favicon-color")
.trim();
in console
for me it shows this on claude.ai
btw, when I enable "Enable Zen Folders styling" it styles my split viewed tabs. is this the intended behavior?
i think you might mean the vertical bar being of zen color
right
it happens because folders and split view groups share the same .tab-group-container
idk why
but they do
oka, it's fine
alr but i still dont understand the active tab glow problem
that just looks like dark-reader errors
do you see this on the top of console
btw btw, is this top border part of the intended style of the "ctrl+f bar"?
this?
the rectangle is back too
thats just mica4everyone broken again after new windows update
never noticed this but i can clearly see this on light mode, thanks seems like this is the default border which zen adds so i just disabled this border with css
interesting....
so as per what i observe, after v3.3 the polyfill module should be loading at the last instead of first
maybe your nebula js file is v3.2 instead of 3.3???
since the tab glow color thing in js is in polyfill module, ever since i added it it made my polyfill module to load at last instead of first
should i download the 3.3 js file on Github and placing it myself?
thanks, it always bothered me this stranded 1px border π (I use ctrl+f quite a bit)
can just go to your chrome folder > js > Nebula_Nebula.uc.js and see if it says v3.3 or 3.2
do i need something to open this kind of file?
ehh wtf
hmm just download this one and place it in js folder instead of the one you already have (delete that)
then go to about:support and clear startup cache
Also, about Sine

one of the reasons i started using Nebula on Sine was to not have to tweak some Nebula values like URLbar opacity everytime theres a new update
but this has not been the case with 3.2 and 3.3
wdym
Like, i change URLBar opacity in light mode to 0.8, right? Before sine, everytime a new update was released for Nebula, i had to go the new file, and change it again
After Sine, this was not necessary anymore
but recently, its happening again, like, its resetting
wait how was it not necessary, since sine downloads the updated files again
i guess that
in v3.2 and v3.3 updates, i know i changed stuff in urlbar.css
and maybe sine only updates the files changed in new releases
so it resets the file in these updates but didnt used to in older updates since i didnt change anything in it
this one here
yeah... its super annoying but
its not a bug
basically it happens because yk i added the option in preferences to customize vairables which nebula uses
I see. i really liked the option to customize variables through settings
so whenever you open settings, sine refreshes itself and the preferences.json and reapplies the values of those (i guess), and since nebula relies on those variables, it flashes at start
I understand. Well, thanks anyway for the help!
Where are the UI packages in the open source Zen Browser? I'd like to add a new theme, but I don't know where to add it so it saves after build.
@strong cedar v3.3.1 progress?
Did you get the fix?
yeah
not really anything just made marginless compact mod work and removed a 1px border on top of findbar
Gib code.
/* ------------------ MARGINLESS COMPACT MOD ------------------ */
@media (-moz-pref("nebula-nogaps-compact-mod")) {
html[nebula-compact-mode]:not([customizing]) {
/* scope everything to the wrapper */
#zen-appcontent-wrapper:not(:has(#tabbrowser-tabpanels[zen-split-view]),
:has(#zen-sidebar-web-panel:not([hidden]):not([pinned]))) {
margin: 0 !important;
#zen-tabbox-wrapper {
margin: 0 !important;
.browserSidebarContainer,
browser {
margin: 0 !important;
}
}
/* single-toolbar case */
&[nebula-single-toolbar] {
position: relative;
}
}
/* navbar wrapper for single-toolbar */
&[nebula-single-toolbar] #zen-appcontent-navbar-wrapper {
position: absolute;
width: 100% !important;
height: 55px;
backdrop-filter: var(--nebula-glass);
background: var(--zen-main-browser-background) !important;
border-bottom: 0px solid light-dark(
rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2),
rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1)
);
}
}
}
the blur and stuff were not working because
for some reason
the code added a border-radius: 0px !important;
@strong cedar how to reset nebula settings?
umm
@strong cedar Also there is bright flash (differnt blur) for a second after restarting zen? IS this known and caused by nebula?
in dual bar mode, the top bar is completely transparent now
here it does have a background, except for the part above the popup
essentials look weird too, no background and theyre all in a column
ok i disabled nebula and re-enabled it and it got fixed
though the disable context menu animations option is gone
i was using that
as well as the marginless mod
i switched today to DWMBlurGlass because of that, thats the one you are using too now, right? Do you know if its possible to only apply it on Zen Browser and exclude other apps?
morning
also having this issue
reinstalling through Sine fixed it
if you mean the variables, then first remove the one you entered and then you will see the default one written in grey, just type that back
that is not nebula thats just sine loading the theme itself
i dont think you can exclude apps in that
sup
uh again a sine issue iguess
ughh sine got so many issues how tf
scroll up does it specifically say [Nebula] β [TitlebarBackground] Tracking initialized.
wait
i just noticed
your border radius for essentials is also messed up, looks like a sine issue π wait reinstall nebula through sine it should be fixed then ig
Wait I'm out rn , will do it soon
Howww
just delete it from sine and just click install on sine marketplace
Oki i will try it soon
And give u update
alr
is there any way i can see how many ads ublock is blocking on the webpage?
no idea
sure, there's no problem
You can have it show the number of blocked requests on the icon in the settings, though it isn't a true "how many ads am I blocking" since it also counts trackers and many ads will have multiple requests
is there a workaround?
idts, if sine somehow changes the way it loads then ig so
okay thx tho
btw is there a new or better way to get mediaplayer in collapsed toolbar mode?
i would love to make smth for collapsed
i think i saw one on i guess #1335963848087306333 way back when miniplayer was released
that would be soooo cool
where it just showed the audio tabs icon in collapsed mode but when hovered it would expand to show the buttons
i cant find the snippet anymore sadly
samee
are u able to cook something up?
i can surely try
ping me once u have something to test
always
?
wot r we looking for , just just reinstalled
is it all good now ?
idk
π
it should show this when startup
how to fixx
go to your chrome folder, then go to js folder and then paste this in there
in which file v
OHH
you already have that file
but
for some fucking reason
sine has changed it from .js to .db thats why its not working
edit the Nebula_Nebula.db to say Nebula_Nebula.js
dn wot next
go to about:support and clear cache
then it should work
(i hope so)
π check console again
oh
wtf is this
browser just gave up
as soon as i did .uc.js to that file and clear the cach
π
@strong cedar I suggest you recommend installing Windhawk > Translucent windows mod in the documentation, instead of Mica. It's less buggy (in my case) and it gives you plenty more options (like adding a tint to the blur, which can make the translucency usable even on white bg)
i installed it 2 days ago only lol
but i do prefer dwmblurglass more
why?
(btw you can just change the tint value of nebula-ui-tint in preferences for same thing)
it has adjustable blur setting and other aero options too if wanted
yeah, but I use the blur in other apps too, this way works even on apps that don't have any way to edit their colors
oh that's nice. but if I remember correctly, it applied the blur to all windows, right?
2
Any reason why the top part isn't matching the rest?
Go to windows settings > Personalization > Colors > See if "Show Accent Color on Title Bars and Window borders" is disabled
Disabling it fixed it
yep, that was it
Thank you π
Is it normal for it to not keep the effect when not in focus?
The blur/transparency
it is if you are not using Mica4Everyone or DWMBlurGlass
Ahh got it thank you.
does nebula backdrop filter the webview?
I'm not running nebula right now, but I was wondering if anybody had some css code block that can make the Compact Sidebar Blur like how it is blurred in when hovering over a folder?
please any idea how to fix this, nothing shows up, I've quit and restarted multiple times, just blank canvas, no tab bar, nothing.
it does run the tabs in the back ground tho if I open an external link but nothing shows up.
wasn't the extensions menu compact before? like this (2nd img)? I think it would be a nice enhancement
I have problem. Many icons turned to words. When I disable Nebula, It back to normal.
this blur you see is the default windows 11 acrylic blur
wtf, do you have like an old version of advanced tab groups or something
try deleting in js folder maybe
gotcha but is there code that can help me achieve that blurr for the compact sidebar? Ive looked all over your github on the nebula page but im not sure which code block i need to use
i dont have nebula installed, i just want to add that part of nebula into my css
@strong cedar mr found any fixx for my shit
not sure how windows materials are configured
im on macos
yeah it was but some people didnt want it so i removed it since that mod can be seperately downloaded from zenmod store
what the fuck, on which website
oh
π
um you could try css html[nebula-compact-mode] #titlebar { padding: 8px; border-radius: 11px; scale: 1; background: transparent !important; backdrop-filter: blur(42px) saturate(110%) brightness(0.55) contrast(100%) !important; }
that didnt work
/* Fix for twilight acrylic */

this is the code i used
for some reason everything else works but no blur
Does it backdrop filter anywhere near the Webview?
I believe there was some setting in about:config that could help with that. Something with grey or gray, I'll check when I turn my PC on
Thank you! ππ»
Try to set zen.view.grey-out-inactive-windows to false
when i search and leave the search bar with escape or the x button the bar stays in position and doesnt dissapear. Anyone knows how to fix that?
and when I open the url bar in compact mode, it appears on the left side of the screen and not in the center
Im also noticing that I have the default URL bar and not the nebula one. I kinda fucked up smth π₯²
Hi guys. Any fix for the black rectangle visual bugs? I heard it's caused by MicaFE (???)
yup
use dwm
seems like an error with twilight. I just switched back to the beta
oh is there a mod for that? what's it's name? The one I was using did more than just that, and overrode parts of nebula (Tab Preview Enhanced)
btw is there any way to remove that button at the bottom of bookmark folders?
I just installed nebula using sine and it shows a wired bar at the top
The Context Menu Icons mod just added today a option to remove this
are you using Mica4Everyone?
yes
how similar is your mica and dwm blur?
i think dwmblur is better because you can tweak however you want the blur settings, and which type (Blur, Mica, Alt Mica, Acrylic)
and also, M4E didn't blurred the whole screen, you can notice the content on the edges like folders and files behind zen still appears and it is kinda ugly
mica doesnt look the same as m4e, should iut?
use the Acrylic option
and tweak it to your liking
can u send me ur settings?
am I the only one who faces this bug? I tried disabling Nebula and installing Arc theme instead (using sine of course) and it has the same top bar glitch
[thanks
what does this do?
thats the opacity and color of the browser UI
thank you
@cerulean rapids sorry to bother
it seems that dwm blur doesnt take into account any windows behind zen, rather just zen itself. i have discord behind zen right now, but zen is showing the wallpaper colors instead
uhh what
it does for me
that is baked in macos transparency though no?
has to be your config then
im not on macos lol
are my settings incorrect?
i wish i could type the settings out, its a nightmare
same issue :/
even with my settings?
yep
thats because you are using the Mica option
Mica always displays the wallpaper
no matter whats behind
m4a did not do that
oh yeah lol
you need to change to Acrylic
acryllic is working, but its giving me some weird "glitches" as i move the window. i can live with it though
if i can ask
how does m4e cause that black box?
try blur then
yeah then change the dark colors like I have
i need help with this, iβm not going to lie i canβt figure it out
in the general setting look at the bottom
it has light colors and dark colors
click on dark colours and then change the first two colors (active and inactive)
just reduce the opacity
lol np
only issue is the glitching again, but not a big problem. at all.
there shouldn't be any reason for that imo
not anything near webview in perticular
I guess you can count the topbar when the "nogaps" option is enabled in nebula, the topbar gets a backdrop filter when it is visible on hover in single toolbar
never experienced this myself but would love to know more details about it, if anyone else is having this pls lmk i will try fixing somehow
yeah its the longest running bug, its just annoying you can fix it by just pressing ctrl alt c 2 times more and then opening urlbar
or just not going to compact mode while urlbar is open and then opening it
this bug is caused because when you apply backdrop filter to sidebar, it forces the sidebar to a composting layer which messes the position of urlbar since i guess the urlbar position depends on sidebar
prob messed with some code
i think the name of it is compact extensions by kikarrage or something
not sure, but i can see what i can do
not a nebula bug in perticular but do you have windows accent color for borders turned on or something, idr but someone provided a fix for this like 2-3 days ago
cuz of windows update, use dwm blurglass
@strong cedar do you have a plan to add additional styling for atg? Just asking :3
i will once i get motivation to edit atg css π
hello, is it possible to turn the "about: settings ..." page transparent without installing nebula? thx
using just that part of the css
thank you, can you provide it please? cause nebula is not working fine with me on twilight !

It is for some reason not working in latest twilight even when installing nebula :/
can't find it π₯Ί
nvm, another extension already does that π
ah found it, but I wanted only icons π nvm, it has opions for that lol π₯
What is this?
uh not sure then
transparent settings
oh the mod name has been changed
What's new in it?
nothing
Why did someone ask for it then?
cuz they wanted to have transparent settings without using nebula
Why do they not use nubulu when you've given options for everything now! π₯
cuz somehow nubulu breaks twilight
Oh, same for Arcline and arc2.0
do you guys know if its possible to remove these dividers from the sidebar and urlbar?
Should be possible. I've tried the urlbar one. Not sure about the sidebar.
I think zen has inbuilt option to disable the pinned tab separator in about:config? Not sure, kinda forgot
I dont really like it but yeah its possible
oh, how did you do it?
You want the code?
yeah
.urlbarView-body-inner {
#urlbar[open] > .urlbarView > .urlbarView-body-outer > & {
border-top: 0px solid rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.25) !important;
}
}
.pinned-tabs-container-separator {
display: none !important;
}
oh, its perfect! thanks
- it looks very good 2. how can I make the left part blurry on linux? its 100% transparent rn and the readablity is kinda bad because of it
@strong cedar Where are you? Reply in Sine server.
Unfortunately Im on windows, and I know nothing about linux. @strong cedar might know what to do.
i am also on windows and know absolutely nothing about linux π
wait your sidebar is transparent? try using blurmyshell, kde-forceblur, or stuff like that depending on DE
when window is maximized , mac like icons are misaligned
Has anyone successfully got this to work with Nebula?
I've been trying for months to get this to work and no luck as yet. I've searched through all threads, websites and even YouTube trying to find a solution for the compact sidebar to be completely transparent.
I've read the Nebula read-me countless time and even seen the creator stated in a reddit post that there is a way how to make the compact sidebar transparent on his git-hub, unless I somehow overlooked it?
From my understanding is transparency not fully implemented for Nebula? or Is this compact sidebar transparency possibly broken?
All Installed Mods
Nebula v3.3
Remove Tab X v1.0
Note: I installed Sine a few days ago and did do a several clean installs of Nebula through the marketplace, while enabling "Enable installing JS from unofficial sources. (unsafe, use at your own risk)" in settings.
What I've done:
Confirmed all necessary options for transparency/acrylic is enabled in the "about:config"
Mica For Everyone is installed as advised by the Nebula readme and even as said to be in youtube videos.
"Show accent colors on title bars and window borders" is already disabled.
Tried adding a few suggested codes I found in some other post for the "userChrome.css", unfortunately none worked which I'm not if they are outdated.
Is there something I missed or any recommendations to resolve this? I'd appreciate any help thanks.
Here is a quick gif I made to show the issue for transparency. It only shows transparency when you disable the compact sidebar.
mica4everyone
yeah there are just soo many different alignment ways that its so hard to hardcode each one of them
i tried to hardcode the default and compact one
but those also have issues sometimesd
should have just asked me to make sidebar completely transparent π
its intentional, when the background behind sidebar is transparent, the sidebar will not be transparent to avoid readblity issues
because otherwise things like this can happen, where text of website below the sidebar can leak through it
so nebula applies a background layer to it
the blur for sidebar works when there is a solid background website
well i didn't know it was intentional and thought it was a bug. would it better if it was transparent with some blurring ability?
understandable in this case
there's been a lot of threads created with users trying to achieve the transparency with blur effect for the compact sidebar, which they also thought it was supposed to be like this.
do you believe there is a way to still achieve this, even to have the option to tweak it to your liking?
yeah but it cant be transparent with blurring when website is itself transparent, its a css limitation soo..
the thing is when the background is transparent, we cant apply blur directly so we need some sort of layer
thats why i added the background so that it applies blur
like this
the background is visible and blurs the page below it
ok gotcha
so i guess im out of luck with this one
ah
whats the alternative
dwmglass?
oh actually, just to be clear im not talking about the black bar
kind of are, you can just change the color of the background but not much else
ohhhh
then you mean the offcentered urlbar?
are you referring to the nebula settings or zen theme settings?
no, like you cant change it directly through settings right now you would need to edit some code values
ok np, thanks for taking the time to explain, hopefully thereβs a way to implement it somehow in the future
yeaa
its fine though now, im just using regular zen and its working good
yeah i made a weird fix for it now
so when urlbar is opened, the blur on sidebar wont work
to avoid this problem
Hi, can I dm you? I have this kinda odd problem and not sure to troubleshoot.
sure
nebula makes some pages' backgrounds transparent, even though i don't have Zen Internet installed, how can i stop this behavior?
nebula does not do any of that π
its because of browser.tabs.allow_transparent_browser
ohh sry
can i disable like blink blink blink animation for new tab
small colors π
go to nebula settings and change the tab switch animation, itβs probably on crossfade rn
There's no problem switching tabs. It only happens when opening a new tab. And I tried it, it didn't change.
maybe, idk
and the new tab defaults to bonnjourr
yea
aaa you are right. It was because of Bonjour. I never would have guessed.
Is there anyway to fix how this looks when using mica and picking a download location, etc?
Have you tried excluding explorer from mfe?
remove it from mfe?
Yeah... See if it change anything....
Nothing changed
Well.... Idk then :/ sorry. Another suggestion from me is ditch mfe and use dwm. Its up to you tho. You may not like either bcz it affect the title bar globally.
are folders janky for everybody else or just me
oh my god it was because of some left over .js from tab groups extension BEFORE folders became a native thing
so when i removed it via sine it didn't fully remove all the .js from that extension
Yeah good thing it didnβt do much to you
For some it caused all the tabs to vanish and stuff
