shy fern
#

Tab groups were removed from natsumi

#

I'd assume you need js for all this doing all this tab groups using CSS is damn impressive man

#

CSS gurus you lot are

mystic marsh
#

Hey, do you plan to change the look of **Customize Toolbar **something like this in future?

mystic marsh
#

@hidden kernel Any thought regards the above feature suggestion?

hidden kernel
#

we are COOKING

#

here's some extra tabs for more context

#

gonna try working on a new material

#

do note that i still consider this ass and i will prob not make this be in the final release

next pine
#

btw can you please make the urlbar button visible when focused?

hidden kernel
#

do you really need them?

next pine
#

ah...

#

no actually

hidden kernel
#

genuine question

#

thats why i hide them when expanded

next pine
#

right

hidden kernel
#

when you expand the urlbar, it's because you want to type something, so having the buttons there would just be more clutter

next pine
#

guess just me being weird when theres only a "button" on left side and the right is just empty

#

ok

#

Btw thank you so much for your effort on this thing

#

Ive been use it since first release fyi

hidden kernel
#

nice

#

more progress on mistcrylic

next pine
#

btw again

#

a little issue

#

ah sorry for the disturb

hidden kernel
#

one sec

#

nuked the border radius

#

will release fix for next release

next pine
#

that was fast!

hidden kernel
#

yeah i found the issue pretty quick

next pine
#

thanks!

sharp pumice
#

you will release again if zen releasees a new beta right?

hidden kernel
#

no compatibility issues im seeing rn

Hello, I just made a new profile and when I applied the theme, the workspace doesn't go down to the settings button as intended. Is there a way to fix this?

#

Also, really nice theme :D

hidden kernel
#

zen issue btw

oblique girder
#

Ahh, I see. I'll check just in case

#

It works, but the thing underneath the Essentials is still there, but I think I'll ask in other channels since it's a Zen issue

#

Thx btw :D

hidden kernel
#

light theme version doesnt look too bad

#

im calling this design "blade"

fickle forge
hidden kernel
#

yeah

#

like arc

#

it got added recently so i riced it

fickle forge
#

oh nice

#

never used arc lol

#

it got added in vanilla zen?

mystic marsh
#

Will be there in Beta by next week.

i am in beta

#

rn im busy working on v3

#

once thats done

#

i may consider

#

time to update findbar

#

wait

#

i should prob finish tabs v3 lmao

final sleet
mystic marsh
#

On which you've tried with this code?

#

for this particular effect.

final sleet

and the zen internet extension

mystic marsh

stolen css skully

mystic marsh
#

I added it at the bottom and no effect yet 😦

final sleet
mystic marsh
#

What to do now?

final sleet
#

i left that out

mystic marsh
#

It's getting too much confusing here!

final sleet
#

there is a back and forward swipe animation in there aswell. if you dont like it you can remove it

mystic marsh
#

swipe as in touch screen animation?

final sleet
hidden kernel
final sleet
hidden kernel
#

lmao

#

i mean i always can reimplement it, but i cant be bothered rn

#

especially since im working on natsumi v3

mystic marsh
sharp pumice
#

will you also change the urlbar ?

hidden kernel
#

yes

sharp pumice
#

in natsumi v3?

#

noice

hidden kernel
#

i already did

sharp pumice
#

damn

final sleet
hidden kernel
hidden kernel
mystic marsh
final sleet
sharp pumice
#

or maybe Ill stick with the urlbar from lacuna. I also like that a lot

#

lets see

final sleet
mystic marsh
hidden kernel
#

im satisfied with this

sharp pumice
#

the thing i like about natsumi the most ist the pdfjs implementation and how tabs become red when hovering over the x

mystic marsh
#

Add your own green touch to it! πŸ’š

hidden kernel
#

i said might 😭

#

i still gotta work on v3 too

mystic marsh
hidden kernel
#

well guess what

#

i have priorities

#

and my top priority for natsumi rn is to finish v3 before i copypaste stuff

tribal turret
tribal turret
#

ohh

#

um btw

hidden kernel
#

latest is v2

#

?

tribal turret
#

yeah

#

btw, idk how to explain but

#

in the latest update, tab gradients are not working

hidden kernel
#

wdym

tribal turret
#

like when i make a tab in a container, it used to show a gradient which i copied from natsumi

hidden kernel
#

try using another container

tribal turret
#

also, when i hovered over the x button in a tab, it showed a red gradient to indicate, which is a really n ice feature

#

but it is not working on latest update atleast with my code, never touched it

hidden kernel
#

can you try updating to the latest version

#

and use stock natsumi

tribal turret
#

yeah lemme try

hidden kernel
#

and see if it helps

tribal turret
#

oh its working with natsumi

#

alr gotta fix it in my userchrome then

hidden kernel
#

rip

tribal turret
#

@hidden kernel sorry for pinging but um i am having a bit of an issue

#

turns out

#

it wasnt natsumi problem the problem is that

#

i changed just a letter in it to fix an issue i had with my essentials

#

but somehow it is also removing these gradients

hidden kernel
#

yeah the current tabs css sucks

#

v3 should be easier to work with

tribal turret
#
      transition: background 0.3s ease, box-shadow 0.3s ease, border 0.3s ease !important;
      overflow: hidden !important;
      position: relative !important;

      &::before {
        content: "";
        width: 0;
        height: 100%;```

in this part of the code in natsumi base, i changed the height 100% to 0% as it was causing issues with my essentials, the essentials were looking like this
#

like it had a weird border on the left

#

so i changed it to 0% and it fixed it

#

but that also seemed to remove this gradient

hidden kernel
#

yeah i cant really help here

#

like i said

#

current css is just ass

#

its been a while since i touched it

#

and even if i do im likely to mess essentials up because of how badly coded it is

tribal turret
#

ripp

sharp pumice
#

in v3 if you hover on 'close tab' does it also change to red ?

hidden kernel
#

yes

sharp pumice
#

noice

tribal turret
#

Really like this design language

how do i "Copy natsumi-config.css and natsumi folder to your chrome folder."

What blocks you from doing that?

whole mauve

copying it from github was difficult

whole mauve
#

i got it slightly tho

covert quarry
#

"source code.zip"

#

Everything's packed here

whole mauve
#

right ok and then what?

covert quarry
whole mauve
#

make a text filed named userChrome.css and add the import thing?

#

i did that so ill see

#

thanks btw

covert quarry
#

Instead of creating a new userchrome, place the one from the natsumi package

#

Also don't forget this (it should be noted as a whole step, not in a warning box imo)

#

@whole mauve ^

covert quarry
whole mauve
#

i think i see it

covert quarry
#

πŸ˜‚

whole mauve
#

ok i deleted the one i made so the one above is all thats left

#

ill reload zen then see?

covert quarry
#

Nope. Drop the natsumi folder in your chrome folder, as well as natsumi config (all in the same folder the userchrome.css is)

#

Then it should be good

whole mauve
#

its in chrome but does the 'natsumi config' mean?

#

also, will my mods go after this change?

covert quarry
#

Dont put natsumi-browser-2.6.4 here

whole mauve
covert quarry
#

Put "natsumi" folder there.

#

(it's inside "natsumi-browser-x.x.x")

whole mauve
#

sorry for the long talking i'm not good with this stuff

covert quarry
#

+(natsumi) "userchrome.css"

#

@hidden kernel The install guide is outdated but you're working on v3 so it may be sth to update when you release the v3

whole mauve
covert quarry
#

U can remove "natsumi-browser-x.x.x"

#

But it should work already

whole mauve
#

delete it u mean right?

covert quarry
#

Yup

whole mauve
#

maybe its just me but people new with this stuff might need a new tutorial like video or smth

#

oh well thanks

covert quarry
#

The zen tutorial might need a lil revamp and natsumi will be updated anytime soon so I guess mr green will update his as well

whole mauve
#

yep it works but on the other account it dosent

fickle forge
#

putting everything inside chrome folder should work by default

fickle forge
#

but what

whole mauve
#

hope mods like this wont go

#

how do i get it on my other account? (profile)

covert quarry
#

@fickle forge

whole mauve

oh right maybe do the same thing but type it up on other browser page?

covert quarry

what are containers?

fickle forge

it'll work when pinned

#

no reason for it to not

karmic marlin
#

ur setup looks incredible btw

fleet fractal
#

:D

karmic marlin
#

im just gonna keep it disabled for now cos i dont have all websites set to be transparent so it kinda looks weird with just the top and bottom bits being transparent

#

but good to have the option if I ever need it in the future

fleet fractal
#

side panel not being transparent while being pinned?

hidden kernel

yep

jaunty sundial

is there a css where most of the hover animations are held for tabs?

hidden kernel
deft plinth

how can i enable tab group in natsumi??

hidden kernel

you cant

tab groups break the split view (on sidebar) for some reason

so better to not use it

dapper lava
hidden kernel
fleet fractal

is natsumi-base.css supposed to say /* ==== Base UI v2 (Sidebars and tabs) ==== */ or is that part just not updated?

not updated yet

also thats just a comment so

basically has no impact

fleet fractal

nah just wanted to know if i should borrow it for my css if its been updated

hidden kernel

#

lmao

#

i mean i did update it

for example

i changed some stuff

moved it to a separate one

oh

lol

mystic marsh
hidden kernel

it depends on the video

#

now we have three materials for natsumi

#

mistcrylic, haze and glass

mystic marsh
hidden kernel
#

youll see mistcrylic for urlbar and findbar

#

its like glass, but with a different tint and some grain for a matte effect

jaunty sundial

congrats on v3 ❀️

hidden kernel
#

its not even out yet lmao

just a beta version

jaunty sundial
#

oh i did not see the beta part my apologies

hidden kernel

ill release the stable version once 1.10b is out

mystic marsh
hidden kernel
#

yep

mystic marsh
#

But isn't 1.9 > 1.10?

hidden kernel
#

thats math

#

not versioning

mystic marsh
#

Oh, I didn't know it's two different things till now!

#

Like versioning is different from math.

fleet fractal
#

will natsumi-tabs.css not work for tabs theme on its own?

hidden kernel
#

wdym

fleet fractal
#

i added this to my userchrome but it dosent work? like the tab themes

hidden kernel
#

yeah it wont work

fleet fractal
#

oh

#

what else is required

#

for it to work

hidden kernel
#

preload.css

#

this loads all the required variables

#

and loads stuff from natsumi-config.css if available

fleet fractal
#

oh

#

i havent updated that yet

#

oki

#

thank you

dapper lava
fleet fractal
#

natsumi.experiments.miniplayer-transparent dosent work :(

(is it still WIP?)

#

or is that not what that about:config does?

fickle forge
#

are you going to add this?

hidden kernel
#

if you turn it off, go to settings then change your accent color

#

youll see it

fleet fractal
#

huh?

#

turn it off?

hidden kernel
#

when its off, it uses the accent color

#

when its on, it uses the background color

fleet fractal
#

oh

#

i thought it'd be like

#

sidebar transparency

hidden kernel
#

its transparent

#

but just by a bit

fleet fractal
#

tf

#

did discord remove 10 mb limit?

hidden kernel
#

zen has lvl 3 boost so

fleet fractal
#

oh

#

neato

fleet fractal

its normal

fleet fractal
#

oh

sharp pumice
#

does the readme still apply for the new natsumi v3 beta?

covert quarry
#

How can we select our preferred material?

covert quarry
#

@sharp pumice ^

sharp pumice
#

Yeah but it was updated 2 weeks ago. I asked if it still applies for v3 or if some things are missing

hidden kernel
#

i kept the same uCL standards structure since 1.4.0

sharp pumice
#

what do you call this effect again?

hidden kernel
#

mistcrylic

#

for most elements, the material is fixed

#

but for some elements they can be customized

#

for example sidebars and pdfjs

visual pond
#

is there way to adjust this padding to the heading and the tabs as well
i am currently using natsumi configs

hidden kernel
#

what is that

visual pond
hidden kernel
#

we dont do those there

visual pond
hidden kernel
#

yes

visual pond
#

interesting
zen/ff doesnt saves the group tabs after you close the browser πŸ€”

shy fern
#

yeah, thats one of the problems with it currently, which is why its recommended you dont use it

visual pond
#

man
i thought it started to work fine

mystic marsh
jaunty sundial
#

are you aware of the close button being cut off in collapsed tab mode? @hidden kernel

#

unsure if its a natsumi thing or a zen thing

#

so apologies if its zen

tribal turret
#

im so dumb i cant make materials work on nebula

#

for the pdf viewer and stuff

#

i edited the pdf code from v2 and made it like this

#

the only problem is that the materials are not applying at all

#

blur effect and stuff also didnt fix it

hidden kernel
tribal turret
#

the v3 code also works but only the material does not work

#

so i tried with only natsumi full code and it worked, then i found that the materials were present in preload.css in natsumi folder

#

so i copied that code to my userchrome

#

and then tried

#

still didnt work

#

im too dumb lolol

hidden kernel
#

how

tribal turret
#

it works if i use default natsumi

#

if i copy stuff from natsumi to default zen then it does not

#

maybe because its just how zen handles natsumi css

tribal turret
#

i just figured out the problem

#

idfk how but nebula is causing blur to not work

#

on websites

#

just remembered someone on github opened this as an issue

visual pond
tribal turret
#

i found out exactly which css is causing the blur to not work on websites

is there folders like shown in the scrn shot ?

i wanna use different materials for different stuff

set it to 7 for more blur, and to 1 for more transparency

karmic marlin

does anyone know how to remove the animation that the url bar has when I open a new tab?

i love how it looks but its a little slow cos I just subconsciously wait for the animation to end before I start typing, I just dont like typing and interrupting it 😭 i'd rather disable it and just keep that back to default

hidden kernel

natsumi.urlbar.light

karmic marlin
visual pond
tribal turret
#

nebula definitely works with natsumi

visual pond

but im thinking of nebula coz of transparent effect for pages πŸ€”

just use zen internet extension for that

dapper lava

@hidden kernel Do you have any idea how to enable backdrop-filter on normal tab-background ?
They are on a transparent or the swiping workspace div so backdrop filter doesn't work normally for them

Do you have anything like that in natsumi ?

hidden kernel
dapper lava
#

how do you do it ?

hidden kernel

i just applied them?

nothing special

dapper lava

and it works damn

mine just refused to work

just saturation and contrast for haze

dapper lava

contrast of gradient on hover is a bit... low? At least when using this colorscheme. But the pink hue highlight when hovering over the "close" button looks great

Appreciate your hard work fr
really thanks for making this theme and spending so much time just to make zen look fabulous.

hollow scarab
#

Firstly, I have to thank you for your awesome work, and for all the time and effort you spent on it. It really is marvelous ^^

But, now, I have to say what I think of the reason. My main point is this last sentence "Catering for a community that doesn't care about me at all even in the slightest bit " It really gives me the impression that you fell on the cognitive bias of negativism (Humans tends to concentrate more on critics and insults, than on praises [it is though that it was for surviving and evolutig])

What I mean, is that, here there was, and there are even now, people, the "community", who did "care about you", and showed some respect and general love for you and your work. It is false to proclaim that nobody does... But, again, it's an human bias.

I really hope, for you, that the future will bring you more happiness, joy, and mindfullness. I hope, too, that you will be able to work on identifying this bias, since it seems to hurt you so much (not a critic, I really think that identifying it could help you ^^)

Nice continuation, and my Natsumi Browser rest in his well gained peace.

hidden kernel
#

well it's hard especially when i grew up with critics and bullies all around me in school

#

and it just feels like the same way in here now especially after what i went through earlier talking with issue volunteers and contributors. thats when i finally snapped and lost all perception of "this community (zen) actually cares about me"

#

sure, not everyone was being an asshole but it was more than enough for me

#

will prob edit it tho i do tend to write weird stuff like that when im mentally struggling

speaking of mods

the approval process of zen mods is pretty broken

Yeah its really bad

Been waiting on some mods for a few months now

hidden kernel
#

this is why ive been insisting on building my own theme store

based on how zen is being developed currently

the team's probably gonna focus less on zen mods as time goes by

Yeah I'm getting the same feeling

hidden kernel

feels like the whole customization aspect is being overlooked now in the name of "optimizing for the majority"

shy fern
#

Yep. I definitely get optimizing for the majority but Im having the same concern with things like the hex colors option being removed by default

hidden kernel
#

exactly

#

honestly as one of the og zen users (since 1.0.0-20a i think), i do feel a bit "betrayed" especially since the customization was one of the main things that got me into using zen

probably not the right term but

it's the closest i could get

Will tab groups in natsumi reintroduced? It used to be there in earlier version as far as I can remember...

shy fern

it was removed because tab groups generally are extremely buggy and shouldnt be used right now, and because green felt people werent adequately appreciating the person who wrote the code for them

#

we're gonna be getting them natively pretty soon though
