#Consistent Crashes and don't know why

The game itself runs fiarly smooth however theres random points where the game would simply just freeze forever and I have to either end task through task manager or if god forbid the task manager opens up under the game on the same monitor I have to log out of windows just to get the game to close, It happens at various times. I've had it happen when picking up a piece of wood, hitting a certain new area, opening the map even. I'm not sure what causes it to be honest and its very frustrating cause I enjoy the game very much and want to play it without having to make consistent saves every 5m so I don't lose to much progress

I have a i7-10700F
16 GB Ram
Geforce RTX 4070

side note I never get any crash reports its just a forever freeze.

How do I get to my save folder?

  1. Open 'Run' through the Windows Start Menu and paste the above link
  2. Press 'WIN + R' on your keyboard and paste the above link
  3. Open 'File Explorer' and paste the above link into the address bar

Zipping the folder

  1. Right click on the folder named 'Saved'
  2. Select 'Send To' -> 'Compressed (zipped) folder'
    This will generate a zip file you can then upload

Uploading the zip file

  1. Drag and drop your zip file into Discord
    OR
  2. Use Discord's 'Upload a File' to upload the zip file

From other UE4/5 games that have open world structure, the usual loading time is 2+ minutes, on slowest drives it's 5+
So I call under a minute of load time quite speedy chadzdealwithit

Right now we've identified at least 10+ user report that have a complete freeze especially when opening the map , and all those customer had the game on hdd when not on external hdd

I'm suspecting that this can be recreated if you open the game with only 16 gig of ram and have a lot of other program opened such as chrome tabs

That would lead to ram spilling more into the pagefile which will slow down sdd that have subpar performance

its gotten better with recent patches, but in the beginning when it first released I almost couldn't even load into the game without either a crash or massive lag, upgraded my card from a 1060 to a 4060 and its better but still have those crashes

Lexar NM710 is a DRAM-less drive so it might drop performance on sustained load, if you have this NVMe one.
I found LSL210 but that's an external unit.

Didn't know that lol, I have an External 3TB drive lol that I put most games on but when I notice performance issues or if ubisoft is involved it has to go on the SSD lol

We have a performance update on the preview branch , and we're working on an optimization that is going to probably save a lot of ram. I can't promise anything as this is still being investigated/tested , but hopefully the game is going to consume less ram.

I believe that upgrading to 32 gig of ram would solve all your issues in the meantime , but i can't advise you to do that as

  1. i am not 100% sure
  2. 16 gig is the minimum requirement , and we're doing all we can to stay below that

4 GB, thats pretty solid, I'll give it a run see if it changes anything and I'll definitely let you know, it is a really solid game that I would no life so if I can get it to run without crashing I will be forever grateful, I kept the faith with this game and came close to refunding it but I had hope because the concept of it is right up my alley so, I appreciate the support and will definitely keep yall posted
