#Corrupted saves

So, its day 65, with constant crashes. After last Crash I cant load 2 autosaves. There is also 3rd autosave, which dated a bit back. After progressing same stuff and catching up with original 2 saves it also stopped working. Now I’m with 3 corrupted save. P.s there is another save files which actually loads, but its different story.

I was running around my base (6 farm, 6barn, T2 village, logging camp and every other building). I remmember picking up TRAPS from one spot, because there was no more forest and replacing 10 of them together in forest. After a while game crashed and could not load in anymore. After that I had extra N3 autosave which was a bit outdated. It worked and I did same things again, picked up traps and placed them in different spot. Then was doing stuff with Bars, managing loot. and suddenly game crashed. Now all files are unplayable.

It was ingame Day 65

All 3 are dead.
On the other hand another playthrough works perfectly.

I'm wondering if 10+ animal trap placed together could have caused it

Realistically it shouldn't but its worth looking into

because, in all 3 save files I did same. Removed and placed on another spot and as day 64 ended and 65 started all game files got corrupted on that day

This has happened to me as well. No crash at all. My games just converted to backups, but when I try to change the name to .sav it just gets deleted. This has happened twice on 2 different play throughs. At this point I was forced to leave a negative review on steam. I really love this game and want to pay it through to completion. I hate leaving bad reviews on games that I like and I would be more than willing to change it to a positive one, i just cant bring myself to grind another 20 hours just to have my saves break.😞

@bright ice Could you try this for me?
Make a backup of those backup save files.
Turn saves in cloud off for bellwright. You can find this in the steam settings in general tab.
Then try to rename one of the .sav_backup to .sav again

I did that and for some reason it keeps toggleing back on. I will try again but disabling it on the main settings across all games.

Btw i am playing offline without an internet connection. My previous playthrough I was connected to the internet

Your 'Saved' folder is located here:

How do I get to my 'Saved' folder?

  1. Open 'Run' through the Windows Start Menu and paste the above link
  2. Press 'WIN + R' on your keyboard and paste the above link
  3. Open 'File Explorer' and paste the above link into the address bar

Zipping the folder

  1. Right click on the folder named 'Saved'
  2. Select 'Send To' -> 'Compressed (zipped) folder'
    This will generate a zip file you can then upload

Uploading the zip file

  1. Drag and drop your zip file into Discord
    OR
  2. Use Discord's 'Upload a File' to upload the zip file

I will have to get my PC connected back to the internet. Which will take some time (life is messy rn) once I am able to do that I will upload my files since iphone is annoying and wont let me transfer files directly

You should still be able to move the save files over

Weird because the steam id i am logged into is the one ive been using. I have another account, but i havent touched it in forever.

That was my fault lol i was editing my backup folder in that video.

I tried that before and it did work, but the only thing that was there was the back ups and the new saves I made

The bad news is that its completely corrupt and unfortunately cannot be recovered. It was most likely caused by a local issue

I'm sorry but unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it :/
