#Direct x12 error!
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hey, we are currently investigating the issue. Could you post your pc specs? Specifically CPU, GPU and RAM
pls help me
We will update you once we find a reliable solution
i have rx 6600 with 22.5.1 update (which was the most stable before), didn't work
i changed it to 23.3.1 which supports up to dx12.1, didn't work either
trying 24.3.1 which isn't very stable for my setup and risky
cpu and ram?
r5 3600x
16 GB 3200
just done replacing my driver version to 24.3.1, verified all game files again, still didn't work
Probably asked this on Steam:
Post OS version and exact build.
Same for you @latent moat post exact Windows 10 build that you have (you can see it in Start Menu > WinVer > Build )
yea i was just replying on that
my specs are:
rx 6600
r5 3600x
16 gb ram 3200
win 10 Enterprise LTSC version 1809 (KB5034127)
went from drivers 22.5.1 to 23.3.1 to 24.3.1
all clean installs but still nothing
Just answered you on steam :3
Will paste it here as well:
That is below minimum requirements for UE5 which the devs didn't bother to mention in minspec on Steam Store.
You'll have to get LTSC 2021 for any and all AgilitySDK based games (so anything on UE5, any of the new PS5 ports, etc.)
EDIT: The slowmode on this Discord is quite ridiculous so here we go:
Since the devs claim support for Windows 7, the game should ship with DX11 RHI.
So it should be possible to launch the game in DirectX 11 mode via adding "-dx11" in Launch Options in Steam.
ahh ok so its a windows issue, ok ill try that then, as long as its not win11
Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.5696)
v1809 is below minimum requirements for Unreal Engine 5 under DirectX 12 mode.
my windows say (You'r up to date) what to do now?
Yea because you are on deprecated build which Microsoft have cut off from Windows Update service for major builds (you will only receive security patches).
So if you want to update your windows OS, you will have to reinstall it using latest ISO from Microsoft.
Alternatively, you can read my previous reply to the other person and try to run the game in DX11 mode.
i added "-dx11" to luanch options and :
So their Win7 support is made-up then i reckon (i highly doubt they are using DX12on7 ).
@vague fractal @latent moat thanks alot man, apparently i was playing for few years without dx12 LMAO
dx12 isn't supported on all win10 versions, only some relatively newer versions and win11
otherwise any game that requires dx12+ will never run
Yea it's just the DX12 Agility SDK and DX12 Feature Level DX12_2 that require newer Win10 builds.
Thing is.. this should have been mentioned in minimum hardware requirements on Steam store page, but it's not.
I'm having this issue too, with not only this game but Nightingale as well. I'm new to the PC gaming world, but my laptop is brand new and I'm trying everything I can to figure it out. Unless I'm reading the specs incorrectly (which is likely), my laptop should be compatible. So far any game that has been released in 2024 has this issue for me
I've heard of people deleting the DirectX file completely and it works, but that file is non-existent on my computer. I've even tried downloading directX, updating everything, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and it still isn't working nor is that file available still.
Xe/Iris/UHD GPUs are all below minimum hardware requirements and do not support full DX12 Feature Level 12_1
/Shader Model 6.6, let alone 12_2/SM6.7.
By default Unreal Engine 5 games will not run on Intel ultraportable laptops, they will run on AMD integrated GPUs though (from Vega M up, so pretty much on anything on the market from 6 years ago).
