So I downloaded a couple of the premade venues from the launcher & they're not showing up. Is there something that I did wrong or do I need Blender & Unity to run those/have them be seen in game?

The venues from the launcher only run on Nightly, make sure you're on that version of the game.

If you're running the current Stable build of the game, that version doesn't know to look for the venues in the location where the launcher downloads them.
When it comes, the next Stable build should support loading venues from that path.

For now, currently Nightly builds should load the venues just fine.
You could also try moving/copying the venue files into the directory that Stable is looking at, but some of the venues (or features of them) may not be 100% supported in current Stable.

Ah, okay. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks guys

Does someone know where I can find the venue files downloaded by the launcher? I'm trying to find them to copy paste them in the Stable venue folder, but I don't see anything.

%localappdata%\YARC\YARG if you're on Windows and my memory is working

the venues aren't showing up on either version of the game for me. They don't even show up in the folders, they all say installed and i've reinstalled them several times but they aren't showing up as it

#

is downloading them into another path

Make sure your venue settings in-game are set correctly (mainly Disable Global Venues being turned off) @boreal sequoia

Checking that path i find the venues folder but it's empty, yet they all show up as installed

#

turning Disable Global Venues is off and whenever i start a song it's still just black

#

Weirdly, downloading a custom venue all of a sudden makes the other ones work, but they don't have any animations and the camera stays static. Let me try this in the nightly build

0.13.2 only added in the file path, the rest of the venue features are still only on nightly

Jumping on this one because I have the same issue.

I have a .YARGROUND file in my folder C:\Users\ARYA\AppData\LocalLow\YARC\YARG\nightly\venue, but when I have the correct settings on, it's just a black screen.

#

I'm on the latest Nightly release from YARC Launcher.

changes in YARG over the past few weeks have made many of the old visualizer venues not work without modification in recent nightlies. it's possible they may start working again soonish, but don't hold me to that...

make sure "disable global backgrounds" isn't set. it's apparently an advanced setting now, so you'll have to hit the blue button for it to show up

naive tendon
#

Does the venue file need to be in a folder inside the venue folder or can I just throw loose files in there?

bronze idol
#

if the venues you can download from the launcher work, it's the specific venue you're trying to use

naive tendon
bronze idol

hm, I thought those still worked..not sure why they wouldn't

naive tendon
#

Let me test an official Venue from YARC Launcher

#

Yep, it's the specific venue.

#

Synthwave Sunset works perfectly.

bronze idol
#

hm, I tried a few and they all worked, not sure what's up with the one you have unless maybe you put the .7z in the venue folder directly rather than the .yarground

📄 How to find your YARG save/log data

You can find most of YARG's save and log data here:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<you>\AppData\LocalLow\YARC\YARG
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/YARC/YARG
  • Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/YARC/YARG/release

Specifically important files:

  • Persistent data (includes scores, profiles, replays, etc.)
  • Logs (Contain debug information, useful for developers when diagnosing bugs or issues)
  • badsongs.txt (Lists songs that can't be scanned into YARG)

there might be something in the log file

naive tendon
#

So good news: 2 of the custom ones load.
Bad news: 1 is still not working.

What keywords do I need to scan for in the log file?

#

-# And if possible, how do I select a specific venue to play with?

bronze idol
#

you can't pick a specific venue, it chooses randomly from whatever you have installed between the launcher venues and the venue folder

naive tendon
#

I'll work with that

#

But it's just that venue specifically is bunk.
