Xbox Rock Band 4 Guitar Binds Not Working on Linux

i have 3 rb4 guitars

there are two gameinputsvc.exe in my service list and they both point to the same path

i think this is causing my issue but i cant seem to find anyone else that has had this issue

i can pair all 3 guitars to windows with the dongle

whats the difference between how guitar sniffer sees rb4 guitars and how rb4instrumentmapper sees guitars

what exactly do you mean by Dolphin seeing them? that's not something i'd expect on Windows

so i can map them

i have no whammy or tilt

but theyre just there

i dont need any drivers or anything

besides the dongle

just nothing else

Guitar Sniffer hooks into the raw data traffic from the Xbox One receiver and reads things that way

RB4InstrumentMapper instead relies on the GameInput API, since it can handle both wired and wireless controllers

it used to do the same thing as Guitar Sniffer, but it wasn't fully reliable and i was hoping GameInput would work better

do you have a version that has guitar sniffer and supports 3 guitars?

i saw the older versions of rb4instrumentmapper only have support for two guitars

this is the most recent version that still uses the Pcap backend

it supports an arbitrary amount of devices, and has for much longer than this version

WinUSB is for wired peripherals and those that use a more proprietary dongle, such as the GHL guitar and Riffmaster

these are 3 rb4 fender wireless

this version seems to be working with one guitar

going to try multiple now

please do, i think for those having issues with gameinputsvc this is the best solution

i think im having issues with it because i tested it on another machine too is that i debloated all the microsoft garbage a while back

on all my windows machines

and that got rid of some xbox stuff that im sure is causing these issues

imo you really shouldn't be using debloater scripts lol, half of them don't actually know what they're doing and break things like this

a clean Windows install and uninstalling things in the programs list is all i do personally
