what i see this for is while people are up playing. this program would run on a second pc and show a list of songs for people to go thought. when they find the song they can be added to the que if waiting people. select the instrument and add there name or names and instruments. and when the song end it say now up is XXXXXXX press green to start. then it auto loads there song and instruments.
#party select program.

i'm been mulling this around, might try to throw something together this week
let me know if you need any help with interface for it
interface will be well in the future lol, but i will ping you when i do
just to have some place to write it down so its not just in my head, here is what i was thinking for this:
- YARG will have an option to turn on the queue server.
- If you turn it on, it runs a webserver.
- You can connect to it from any browser (unless you're a techie and know how and desire to get past this, it will only be accessible via the same network).
- There's a page with your song list, and you can add songs to the queue.
- WIll try to have a priority based queue, where if multiple people add songs it will prioritize the person who's song was the least recent (kind of how karaoke bars do it)
please share thoughts
That's a pretty good pitch honestly. I particularly like the idea of the priority queue.
It would be good if the songs somehow could link to the profile in the leaderboards or similar, and of course if they could share the artstlye. But that would definetely be further down the road
I love the webserver idea
oh man i'm totally calling it YAQ
the one thing is, i think i do need the whole queue system itself to be implemented before i can add to it lol.
A good proof of concept in the meantime could be a website where you upload your library's json export, and it allows you to navigate the whole thing
i mean i wouldnt have you upload a json, it would read directly from YARG. i might work on that at least, get it ready all the way up to the adding to queue step.
This seems hella hard but I would use it literally all the time
I have christmas parties every year and I would use this BIG TIME
yeah this is something i would use a lot as well.
This would be pretty good for parties and let people browse songs easily while they're waiting
this would also be so sick for twitch implementation. twitch chat queues songs, if a song is queued when the current song ends, it automatically selects that song and brings you to the difficulty screen.
I wonder if it could be tied to using chat points if we get that kind of integration. But I know certain reasons can't have points due to gambling laws since they're also used for predictions
a chatbot with a points system gets around that
Oh that works
Any updates to this. Was just wondering, not trying to be pushy.
