I have ran yarc perfectly fine on steamdeck with the linux version but really want to use the vocals which dont work on the linux version so I figured id install the windows version instead. Now ive installed many windows programs using proton and wine and they have worked 90% the time. Now the issue Im having with the windows installer is I will use wine to run the installer and then it will make the install folder in the fake C drive and then send a .ink file and the launcher file to my desktop and neither will open when i run wine wine, steam, or protontricks.
#installing windows YARC on Linux (steamdeck)

unfortunately I don't think any of the developers has a steam deck so we haven't been able to investigate the microphone issue, and will probably not be able to assist much with this either
one workaround could be to download yarg without the launcher (download from here: https://github.com/YARC-Official/YARG/releases/tag/v0.12.0) and try launching that instead on windows
I think the windows version of YARC needs webview2 installed, which isn’t yet available for Linux. I’ve gotten it to work by using Bottles and setting up a new bottle (aka wine prefix) and downloading the portable version of YARG and moving that into the prefix.
@jagged cipher worked like a charm all i had to do was run the exe in steam with proton experimental. Thank you so much
i do. i'll give it a try.
If you do find anything, please update us in here as well

hi devs, I did some research on my own about this the other day and posted my findings in the github issue for the mic problem
https://github.com/YARC-Official/YARG/issues/442#issuecomment-2097462440
this seems less about wether or not it works on a steamdeck or not and more so it doesn’t work on linux. i can’t personally confirm, but he says vocals don’t work on linux via the linux version.
but like already posted it seems running via proton works, OP, @vast lion if you want nightlys you can also download them directly too.

just read the git issue so obv it’s known its a linux problem. myb for adding.
There's a fix in progress now there's a test build in the other help issues look for Logitech mic Linux there's a test build in there. If you set the monitoring volume to anything but 0 you will hear crackling when not singing. Still being worked on, but works.
