i think so!
I was struggling with this mission as well, but made it in the end.
- Turn of the traffic. (In options)
- only use 2nd and 3rd gear for drifting and play with the throttle carefully.
- Drift as much as you can to increase the multi. Let the rear swing left and right over and over again in 3rd gear on straights.
This way i did make like 84k Points.
I understand, but for me
- The road is quite narrow
- The car is not powerful enough
- The road is not designed for drifting all the time
- The time and amount of points may be adjusted to give less points, unlike the case of the interest missions in the previous chapters that had a lot of time and wide roads and allowed to use their own cars (I have no problem using Keiko's car because of the story)

- Very important * It shouldn't be a difficult mission for just chapter 3 I don't think it's very beginner-friendly.
I dont understand why this mission is about drifting. I Think they should think about changing it to a drifferent challenge. I would suggest a challenge where you cant go under a certain speed for some time or something like that.
I can't believe that I played with my thrustmaster t300 steering wheel and it was so hard to pass. Even with FFB100% set and even with Arcade mode on, it was still hard. But if you use the keyboard control, it's so easy that it's like a different game. Just keep accelerating and alternating left and right, and you can pass with almost 2 minutes left. It shouldn't be like this. 🥲
I share this opinion. I think it comes down to how the points system work and requires you to swing back and forth. But yeah, not the best car for drifting. The exhaust though
Devs really nailed that.
well, that's the charm of drifting a car with short wheelbase
it's tougher than regular FR cars, but it's definitely doable, just need to remember to not exceed the certain angle, as it's an MR car as well
I think it's more of a problem with the FFB given to the steering wheel. Drifting from the steering wheel should be more controllable than using a keyboard or joystick.
if JDM was an actual simcade, I'd be inclined to agree
but it's more on the level of Forza Horizon when it comes to driving model
Another thing to add is that the Honda Beat is simply just a bad car to use for drifting. No only does the MR engine configuration mean the car's gonna be much more sensitive to any change of direction (be it from steering, braking, e-braking, accelerating, letting go of the gas), but the short wheelbase drastically worsens the issue too. Additionally, the understeer-y setup, something you typically want in a drift car, simply prevents the car from taking any steering input you give it.
Forza and Corsa do this really well, even though Forza isn't as simulation focused, it should be better with the steering simulation mode available.
I'd say that Horizon is an actual simcade and way more advanced than JDM.
In short, her Honda Beat
- is hard to get into any type of motion due to the setup
- is hard to keep at a specific angle due to the short wheelbase
- is hard to correct due to most of the weight being at the tail of the car
I think the Beat would murder a lot of the bigger cars in a race. As a drifter though? Hell no
I think those who have played until chapter 3 must have quite some experience in drifting cars, not a beginner who doesn't know anything about drifting. But it's hard to use the steering wheel to play this mission. In other missions, there are more drifting areas and a reasonable amount of time (but for me, it shouldn't be hard to use the steering wheel to control the car. That's what I'm trying to say).
