read this and the message it's replying to: #general message
then try that and report back to Devoxin and let him know if it works

#

if you need a Lavalink v3 jar instead there's another one in previous messages at #general message

#

this Lavalink.jar is out of date

vast mist
pliant stone
#

that's a v3 jar and a warning, and not an error

#

it's to inform the user of that change

#

what Lavalink version you use depends on the library you are using on your bot

vast mist
#

bot lavalink not connecting

#

It always gives this warning

#

Seriously, does anyone know how to solve this issue? It's been bothering me for a month now.

#

no one can read your mind

#

we need logs

Just to confirm, your bot's user ID is set correctly?

That looks fine. The position is advancing as it should. Could you let it play and report back what the position of the track is when it ends?

maiden marsh
#

Is ~4 minutes the correct length of the track that was being played?

vast mist
maiden marsh
#

Hm, I'm not sure what to suggest then. Logs all look fine

#

Have you tried changing voice region?

#

When you use another node that you say works, are you using it with the same bot or a different one?

vast mist
#

When you do one of the things here, it happens to some of you.

#

example this works

#

But since I want to do it myself, there is no sound in the way I sent you.

#

?

#

nvm

#

didnt someone else complain about this issue when attempting to run lavalink on their pc?

vast mist
#

When I add the server I gave you to the bot, it works without any problems.

#

But that doesn't work when I create a server myself, that's what I'm talking about.

#

Is there anyone I can send a remote desktop to?

vast mist
maiden marsh
#

Are you absolutely sure that the bot's user ID in your lavalink client is the same as your actual bot's ID?

#

That's the only situation in which I've seen normal playback but no audio

vast mist
maiden marsh
#

but as I said, there is no sound
yes I'm aware, this is what I'm trying to figure out

do I need to install something separate for this
no, aside from Java, Lavaplayer/Lavalink is self-contained

Do you see a green ring around your bot when it's in the voice channel?

maiden marsh
#

Can you try change voice region?

vast mist
#

It's already a working bot, I can send it to you in the form of a video by connecting to the public server.

maiden marsh
#

??

vast mist
#

let's try

maiden marsh
#

Do you host on Windows or Linux?

#

oh I see

#

Windows

#

are you hosting this off your own PC or a server?

vast mist
#

I can do physical testing

maiden marsh
#

Could be that your firewall is blocking the connection perhaps

#

I don't have much experience with Windows-based servers but that's the only thing I can possibly think of at this point

#

github releases

#

idk what you expected using an older version

vast mist
maiden marsh
#

v4 and v3 should be mostly identical aside from lavaplayer versions

#

try a different server

vast mist
maiden marsh
#

no as in

#

try a different hosting provider

#

and you don't need to ping me in every response

vast mist
#

I will try it on my own physical computer

#

The situation is the same, but it still doesn't send sound. Am I making a mistake somewhere?

maiden marsh
#

Honestly at this point it could be anything. As far as the Lavalink server is concerned, it's retrieving frames from the player so it's anything from actually sending the packet to being lost in transit

#

anything from actually sending the packet
which also could be anything. It could be your JVM, it could be your OS, firewall, ISP, or any of the routes between your server and the Discord voice server

#

I don't think it's anything specific to Lavalink or the source you're streaming from (but you can check this by trying to stream from something else, i.e. Soundcloud)

#

But as for your network configuration, that's not really anything we can fix. Best I can advise at this point is to host a server with a different provider.
