Gemini has a feature to generate code in Python and immediately run that code. The AI assistant is aware of this feature in Thinking mode but is not in Pro mode. I have confirmed this issue.

Regarding the methodology, I asked in Pro mode about the code handling tool and then in Thinking mode, requesting not to search the web.

I hope that this issue is resolved soon because it is Pro mode that should utilize the code handling tool the most effectively.

Could you please explain a little bit more in detail what happens when Gemini tries to generate or run code in Python and in Pro mode? Do you receive an error message, or is it just not working as expected? Screenshots would also be helpful!

Gemini supports generating ad hoc code and immediately running it to analyze something or create algorithmic stuff. The AI assistant recognizes this feature in the case of Gemini 3 Flash, but does not in the case of Gemini 3.1 Pro. This issue might affect any advanced features that rely on this code execution tool, possibly file generation (not sure, though).
